He hates being syringe fed, I noticed he was drinking from his bottle so I know he's getting liquid and he even begged for syringe pellets last night. I'm giving him Excel but he usually eats WAGG. He's producing a lot of this white stuff, I've put a red towel in the sleeping area to see if it'll show me what his poops are like, I've not seen anything out of the oridinary apart from this white stuff but I think thats like a cleaning thing they do, His bottom never looks dirty (it had a tiny bit in it when I noticed it was a bit sluggey).

What is it that causes it when it comes to food, pellets, veg or over watering? He's stopped dribbling now for the past 2 days so I'm happy his teeth aren't hurting anymore, he had some Daktarin just to prevent any infection that might start depending on how the teeth broke. Even though I filed the sharp bits I noticed Kenyas (his cage mate) has very sharp top teeth so perhaps they were suppose to have very sharp teeth but it's better until they grow back to normal lenght lol.

I'm not sure he's eating hay, I'm not sure how you force a pig to eat hay, it's not really something you can puree >.<

Hows yours doing now? xx

Does anyone know if a medicine has gone off, say 1 month, it's best not to use at all or is it still usable. Dioralyte which is a electrolyte powder for babies. x

I would pop him to a vet to be on the safe side :) Wow, you filed his teeth yourself. Their teeth are extremely sharp lol, like little razors and I'd never attempt to do this :... If he's not eating, it's only a vet who can really find out why but it does sound like dental issues that need sorting asap.
Maybe put smaller amounts of hay for him during the day so you can monitor what he eats - this is their main diet and makes up 85% of their intake.
A shorter stranded hay may help him eat rather than a course one atm - kind of a catch 22. Oxbow do a nice range of hay that doesn't break the bank ;)

Personally, I wouldn't use anything out of date (unless a dire emergency but I always try and keep the piggy 'first aid' kit topped up) and only under the advice of a vet - self prescribing can often have less than desired effects :(

Really hope Mr. Digby can recover - he couldn't be in better hands with Debbie and Simon.
I'm so sorry, I referred to Diggers as Jasper in my madness last night - this is what having a poorly piggy does to your mind mallethead (my girl is unwell too atm, such worrying times :()
Lots of vibes to the little fella from us all here, thinking of you x>>

Thanks, hope all goes well your piggie.

Hopefully Diggers will see Simon tomorrow - fingers crossed

Diggers is going to see Simon this evening, I will update after that. Keep you fingers crossed for Diggers

Thing is for me, vets have failed me more than my rodentologist so I trust him most. Cally however has produced a fully formed altho small poop.

We've decided that if he doesn't improve by Sunday, the time my Rodentologist has told me to treat him and monitor him, we will take him to the vets. It's hard for us to get to a vet, the only one I trust is 2 hours away by bus and I'm agoraphobic so I find journeys that long very hard, it's a hospital so is open 24/7 but still, it's more expensive the later you go.
As I said, if I don't see MORE improvement by then I will make the choice to force myself to Lichfield to take him to our vets for a physical exam.

I hope your piggie can make a turn around, I'm hoping Cally's is only his teeth and nothing to do with anything else, my last 3 pigs went through everything but it was said they had a failue of something and I don't want this to turn out the same thing. Although he's 2.5yrs old, and being identical to my last pig with the same illnesses at the same times, I'm a bit unsure.

Will be thinking of you and your piggie :D

I am devastated to say that Diggers died. In the 15 minutes since I collected him and got home he died. I am in bits, I was so hopeful that Simon was going to see him and we'd get him turned around. It was like he waited for me. Poor Caramel is alone again now. I can't believe I have lost 3 piggies this year

Oh Deb I'm am so sorry, so so sorry. I'm going off to have a cry before I start my night class :(

I feel so sad that you've lost your special little guy. I definitely think he waited for you to collect him from the vets, but sadly he wasn't well enough to wait until you could get him to Simon.

Sleep well Diggers, and hugs for you Deb. x
