My two pigs live in a two-floor rabbit hutch that opens into a huge area of carpet that's constantly accessible to them. They have a number and variety of edible hideys, cardboard tubes, boxes, chewy wood balls and literally a giant chew block of wood. But Dibbler STILL continues to eat the wood of their hutch instead! The sound is LOUD and driving me insane and I don't want him to chew a hole in the side or expose the tiny nails holding the hutch together. But he. Won't. Stop!

Advice needed, please! I've provided a dozen different things for him to chew on but he still eats the damn walls of his hutch!

Would putting a house/toy in front help? I'm not sure whet you can do, especially if he likes pushing things out of the way (my sow always pushes the hay rack). Hope I can help

Hmmm not sure there. I don’t know if he’s bored maybe, despite the plentiful chew toys. Have a look at the enrichment thread.
Enrichment Ideas for Guinea Pigs

Ps they don’t need a block of wood to chew on. The cardboard is enough 🙂

As for enrichment; I just don't have meterials to make things out of anything besides cardboard and due to quarantines I don't have the means to get wood to make things out of. But they already have a few homemade hidies and fleece forests and chew sticks and chew balls and stuffed toilet tubes and treat puzzles and jingle toys. Dibbler simply has no interest in chewing on *anything* besides hay and his hutch and it's becoming increasingly frustrating.

I give mine a thick apple branch (Without spray or lichen on it) and they make beeline to chew on this when I put a new one in. They love chewing on it. Is it worth a try, do you have any un-sprayed apple trees around?
An alternative might be to double up with wood on the areas he is chewing so its double thickness, thats if you could get some wood?
