LOL thank you! I might get tempted to trim William's hair too, for now, I bought a cool pad for him to lie on. I'm going to try it today, our summer is pretty hot here ( over 40oC), both stay in the coolest part of the house, Ryuu doesn't seem to mind the temperature but William is a bit hot I think.I think most long haired pigs shed a lot in summer, my two do. I find mine get quite itchy from the long hair so I trim it right back for the summer.
It's strange looking but it's an excuse for me to call them 'nudey potatoes'
Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't mind the hair, I was simply worried if it's normal or if I have to take him to the vet. I've got two shih tzus and although they don't shed per se, I do pick up some hair on my clothes, but they're easily removed. My Binky is shedding non-stop when it's warm. I even got myself a sign for the wall that says "a home is where the guinea pig hair sticks to everything except the guinea pig"!
Despite having all our furniture and clothes coated in a fine layer of white hair, we'd rather he shed and be a happy and comfortable piggie who isn't too warm!

Do vets need their own grooming parlours in West Cumbria @BossHogg ? Won't ordinary barbers/hairdressers do?My Stanley has very long hair, I take him to my local vet grooming parlour and get him clipped right down.![]()
