Edward completely ignored his breakfast this morning but he has been eating hay and pellets. Should I be worried as he’s normally first to the veg plate?

I wrote a thread yesterday as he’s lost a bit of weight recently but he’s also had Elizabeth in completion for the veg.

Should I carry on keeping an eye on him or does it warrant a vet visit?

I would have him vet checked. Something is obviously going on.

Sending you hugs Claire it's so worrying when their not quite right. Maybe an earlier vet visit would be a good idea to set your mind at rest if nothing else.

Don't mean to add to stress, but every time a pig of mine ignored veg. It meant the early stage of something wrong. In my case they were either uri 's in very early stages, or a bit of bloat. Dot has started squeeaking when urinating or pooing last night. Oh the fun 😴hoping it s to do with her I. C and not something more

I’ve just got back from the vet who could find nothing wrong. I’m to keep an eye on his weight and she will reassess when they go again in 3 weeks time. Looks like my little boy was just off his veggies this morning as he ate his tea but I’ll be keeping a close eye on him for the next 3 weeks

Sending hugs, unexplained appetite loss and weight loss are the worst things as there's nothing you can do! You might try some extra tempting veg and oats as an extra snack, and of course monitor his weight daily but I'm sure you thought of both those things already because you are a super pro experienced piggy slave :)
Healing wheeks Eddie boy, hopefully he's just been distracted from his veg and tired out by his lovely new lady friend x

Maybe he was just off his veg. I guess we are so used to it being inhaled as quickly as possible, that when they want to wait, we think we have a sick pig

Hopefully Claire he was just having an off morning but it's good you got him checked and that he's eaten his tea. Sending hugs!

Thank you. I’ve just given them some fresh hay and he’s tucked in but I’m still worried as he wasn’t as interested as usual :( I really do hope he’s just having an off day

Unexplained weight loss and not eating properly is awful :(

Thank you :( He’s at the vets in 3 weeks time for nail trims and check ups. Will it wait until then or should I have him seen sooner? He’s just taken a couple of flaked peas from me

Any piggy that is not eating properly should be seen ideally within 24-48 hours and in the case of not eating at all asap!
Switch from weighing weekly to weighing daily at the same time.

Thank you. He’s seen the vet and she has checked his teeth and examined him and can’t find anything wrong. I’m to monitor him for the next 3 weeks including weighing daily and she will reassess when I take them all for nail trims and check ups unless I become worried in the meantime
