Hi there my guinea pig has accidentally been in contact with a male guinea pig. She started to get a pig her belly and her appetite was increased so I fed and cared for her as if she was pregnant every day I handled her with care and she was getting bigger. Today I went to her cage to do a spot cleaning I saw some blood on her nose and immediately looked in her cage there was blood and some mucus like discharge and also some liquid discharge that had soaked into their bedding. I took a look at her belly and there was some blood on her belly and a little by her down below area. I checked her cage mate who is also female and there was nothing on her. She seems alright in her self is running around, eating, drinking, and is still definitely noisy. If you have any idea if it was a miscarriage or not could you please help thankyou ever so much 😢❤️

This definitely calls for an emergency vet visit as it is not normal for piggies to bleed from their lady bits during pregnancy. If there has been a miscarriage the vet will need to find out whether the baby is still inside her or not as this can cause a deadly infection if left

Hi!

Please see a vet ASAP as an emergency! It can well be a miscarriage, but your girl needs a hands-on vet check, care and any necessary medication to prevent an infection setting in. Any bleeding from the anus is a serious matter.

Please make absolutely sure that your girl is not meeting up with any boar ever again.

Fingers firmly crossed for your poorly girl!

Any news on your little lady, have you managed to get her to a vets?
