Hi,
I'm still a relatively inexperienced pig owner and just wanting to check I'm feeding the right amounts/ratios of feed. I have 2 females (4 months old) and a newly rescued boar (9ish months old, came to me underweight and with bad skin condition).
They each receive the following per day:
- about 8-10 pellets ( mix of JR farm grainless complete and their enriched vitamin C feed (I'm in Europe so this seems to be the best pellets I can find))
- 2 large leaves of romaine lettuce or round leaf lettuce (or parsley/coriander when the supermarket has it)
- 1/2 bell pepper (usually green)
- And one smallish piece of either raddish, carrot, cucumber, celery, courgette, tomato, spinach etc rotated during the week
- unlimited fresh hay

The veg is split into a morning and evening feed. My boar hadn't had much veg before he came to me and things he shouldn't have been eating. He has lettuce the same as the girls, but the only other veg he will eat is cucumber, carrot and a little courgette, so I have been giving him a small piece of one of these each day (usually cucumber). He has apple occasionally as a treat.

Does this sound like an acceptable diet or can anyone advise if I need to change any aspects?

Thanks

Thank you for your response and the link, looks useful. My pigs love them! Although they didn't have much choice in the matter! They would eat a lot more given the chance. My boar, wasn't quite as keen as he was on muesli before I got him, but now happily eats them.
