Diet for a piggy with a funny tummy...

I had a similar problem with one of mine and put him on a hay-only diet for 24 hours (well, and water, of course!) and then on a course of pro-biotics.

Hope that helps

it could be the amount of veg he has has upsetted his tummy. Either way best thing to do is taking him off veg for a day and give keep him on dry foods and hay until it clears up.

sometimes certain veg can give them runny poos that smell more than usual. Cauliflower leaves, brocolli are a couple that do this!

hope his tummy gets better soon!

lol aww! my piggies just over that but i think hes huge! only thing is Scruffy is one big furball - its hilarious, his fur is SO thick and long - cutie! if i cut it off he's actually so tiny!

He should be fine, leave the dry pellets in as well though, these will be fine for him. x

Aww hope he is ok Emma! I would do as Sophie suggested and when you put him back on veggies maybe leave him off the cabbage and windy veg. :)

Will give it all a go!

Minty seems huge, what with the fur, but Garry is 100g heavier at 1050g. Dave is heavier still and Benjamin tops the scales at 1250g. He's like a small dog!

aww cuties! what breeds are they?

How is he doing now? I have the king of upset tummys living with me, he cant have certain veg or he really goes downhill quickly, and the list of things he cant have is growing. Spinach, romaine, cabbage and leafy greens are the worst culprits so i'd advise watching what your giving and seeing how his poos go, if you can identify a food then stop it all together. Poor Panda who lives with Ralfie has to eat her lettuce etc separate lol! Though ralfie seems to know now what upsets his tum and doesnt touch it if he's near it no matter how tempting it must be! There are countless things that help upset tums and some of them have really brought Ralf back from the edge so if you ever need any help give me a pm I'm happy to help and say what has worked for ralfie.

Minty (Roan Aby Cross) and Garry (Black and Ginger) taken in May, but they're pretty much the same!

Dave - he's chocolate coloured all over, on top of his coat he's dark brown but he's a lighter colour underneath. Apart from the white on his crest, he's only got that smudge of tan on his nose!

Benjamin...the most laid back pig in the world!

This is probably why they are that heavy....pigs!

Thanks for this. Basil was doing a few flabby woof-woofs last night - nothing serious, but I'll slip those probiotics into his water and put him on the Hay diet. I think he was spoiled while I was away.
