>:D My 2 boy are about 7 months old now, perhaps a bit more, I've noticed that recently they are getting messier, more scent marking than they used to, and yesterday they both had a bath because they smelt and had messy "bits".

Is this just a boy thing? Are they scenting so much at the moment because of their age?

Also am I right in thinking that the scent glad is the small lump at the bottom of their backs and the testicles are just that (normal nothing special about them ones)?

It was around the testicles that Treacle was messy but his fur in general smelt a bit off.

I think at this age, a dominance thing comes into play, maybe they are working out who has the smelliest bum for dominance, 98) If you know what i mean

Yeah the grease gland is just about where the tail ends and this can get very smelly depending on how often they mark and how much they produce (different piggies produce different amounts). The "lump" you can feel is actually the end of the tail, but sometimes this gets "lumpier" as the grease builds up. Lots of people just clean this part rather than bathing the pigs frequently. A tiny blob of washing up liquid or Swarfega massaged in neat and then thoroughly rinsed off will do the trick. Do make sure you give a good rinsing. All the boars I've ever had have preferred this to a full on bath - boys will be boys!
