Going to vet soon for general checkup, but have noticed discharge from Peppa's vagina. It looks orange I think? She hasn't made any pained sounds pooing, hasn't weed in front of me so not sure. Her hair is orange/ginger however. Could it just be pieces of hair stuck by private parts by wee? She's long haired and I've tried cutting around her private parts (very carefully) but not sure I can see properly. I'll try and get a picture

Turns out gpig vet is on holiday until next Monday. Can't really see any discharge now. Unsure as if to wait until next Monday for all three or go up to Taverham vets this week

I've a similar problem with one of my girls at the moment, although today her discharge turned bloody and she's now being treated for a UTI.
It would be best for her to see a vet ASAP just in case, even if it's not the vet you'd like to see.
It might not be anything, just to be in the safe side :)

Oh dear, hope she's doing ok x

Passed appt time now :( do you think tomorrow would be ok? Ringing Taverham now but have a vet appt for tomorrow set at the usual place if I can't get one

Confused again. About a hour or so ago I picked up Peppa to notice the repeat of what looks like orange-y discharge. I had to put her down as there was someone at the door. Next time I see this I'll wipe some on a tissue. Checked her again just now and no traces of it. Checked the cage, no sign of blood, diarrhoea etc. No crusty nose or eyes, seems quite alert. Her weight is 800g, same as her last weight check.

Also checked Porridge just to be safe for this thread, she's also ok. About thirty grams down from her usual 1000g, guessing from hunger, haven't put pellets in today. No diarrhoea traces etc. I'm really confused as to what's up with Peppa.

Appt with my usual trusted vet on Monday.

Hi I know a hamster isn't the same, but mine had intermittent bleeding & it turned out to be Pymetry. I think if you wipe her with tissue, it probably is blood. I know if it was me I'd get her seen today. If it is Pymetry you need get antibiotics quite quickly, you don't want to let it get a hold. Get hold of Wiebke she'll probably know.Good luck for Monday.

Also as far as I know it's not infectious.

Thanks. Checked her again, no discharge.

I would've gone today, but my usual guinea pig specialist vet is on holiday and I'm worried there will be a misdiagnoses. First time we were there, the vet was mixed up (cat/dog vet) and was transferred instantly to the gpig vet.

I know the bleeding with Peanut was now & again, maybe once a day then 3 days latter there was no pattern maybe mention it to the vet. They couldn't do anything with peanut, to tiny. With a piggy just spay her. Once the wombs gone she'll be OK.

Thanks.

In a mighty stress right now as my scales are broken, so it's telling me Porridge has gone down by 30, then 100, then 50 within ten minutes. I'm getting some digital scales today

Just now. Looked kinda sticky, white ish? This also came off. I know the picture might look red, but the things on the tissue are orange like.
