I have always fed my Girls Burgess pellets ( original ) however i thought i would try them on the oregano and blackcurrent as i thought more vit c :)

I didnt hold much hope for them taking to them, how wrong i was, they tucked in straight away.

The other night i alternated back to the original to give them variety and when i went into thier room the cage was a mess with pellets everywhere, never been so messy with pellets :{

Anyway my son informed me that they were making a row and Cocoa was throwing all the pellets out the bowl with her head and Ollie was behind her wheeking in encouragment rolleyes

I think they want the Oregano all the time now..so now i am left with 4k of original rolleyes

My concern is..i have been informed that the oregano do not sell too well and they may stop stocking, Would i ever be able to get them back on the original without the fuss lol
 
i would think if they didnt have the choice there they would go back to the original ones eventually.
 
I've only ever tried it once, because it works out more expensive and being a rescue every penny counts, but my neighbour tried it. She had the opposite problem, they threw all of this one out into a corner of their home and refused to eat it, so she just went back to the plain, so she gave me the bag and I mixed it in with the normal and then it got used. I have heared that they may stop making it too due to the fact that it's not a big seller. If it was the same cost as the other it may sell better. As already said, if they don't have a choice they will eventually eat it, they're not missing out until they do if they have the right amount of hay and veg a day. :)
 
Haha I was VERY worried about this happening with mine, so I mixed the two - although none of mine seem particularly fussed and devour the lot - I don't think they bother tasting what they're eating before they scoff it down!

Mix the normal ones with a bit of the oregano; when they are hungry, they will go back for more normal ones. If you stay firm, they will eventually give in.

I have started to mix my normal pellets with all kinds of others, so they if can't get hold of one sort for some reason (or they goo off them, like they went off the normal Burgess), it is easier to shift them to something else.
