i just think its degrading

i mean how would you feel if you knew when you died someone did that to you? stuffed you to put on show, and put you in a stupid pose like that with cogs sticking out of your stomach and another animal perched on your head

just my opinion. i really dont like taxidermy to me its just completely pointless and sick
 
I agree; it’s distasteful but there are probably no grounds on which is breaks ebay rules – I don’t think that is what the discussion is about (?)
What I would question is the mentality of someone who would choose to display this item in their home. What would be their feeling and respect for a live animal? The actual appearance of the guinea pig is pretty grotesque and the subject matter almost has a hint of animal abuse about it. (Obviously I don’t literally mean to that GP; it’s dead….just the concept).
 
i find this whole discussion really strange. The first post clearly stated what it was yet so many people have looked and commented even though they knew it was going to offend them. Whats the differnce from stuffing birds to this? Yes i know the subject matter is strange and slightly wrong but at the end of the day some poeple see this as art.

i wouldnt have it in my house i've already said that, I'm just saying its none of my business what other people have in theirs and its not breaking rules so why get it removed? and people do that to humans aswel, well not stuff them but they are preserved and at a lot of museums. plus i dont think its really valid to compare a small animal to a human, as much as i love animals they're just not the same. just my opinion. egyptians used to want to be preserved as mummies, i wouldnt really say its degrading, they're dead. you could say its wrong to burn something dead or let it rot in the ground but its just done. could also say its degrading to wear fur and leather, thats a dead animal, more degrading to be used as a bag than kept how you originally looked.
 
I think we are all right... its personal choice but we all entitled to it... people will look at gross stuff... rubbernecking on traffic accidents etc etc...its human nature.
I hate it and think its awfull and want the woman to use her talents to do something else and I'm correct.
You guys think she should be allowed to do her stuff and just get on with it you are also correct!
We are a rainbow of opnions and personalitys and thats what makes us beautiful!

it was a living thing at the end of the day, it doesnt deserve that once it had died IMO

I'm not trying to press my beliefs on other people, I'm just saying why I'm so against it

cows dont deserve to become bags or jackets but they do. people buy them like people buy taxidermed stuff. IMO.
 
i never said i approved of fur/leather

i dont like either, especially for fashion purposes.

i dont wear shoes anyway i wear trainers all the time
 
i didnt say you did, i just meant there are hundreds of bags on ebay and nobody thinks anything of it, even though its a dead cow! this is a dead pig, how its formed shouldnt really make a difference.

thats the bit i hate the most too, its degrading to the poor things
 
pah i'm in the not bothered about dead things, fine it's tasteless in as much as it looks rubbish but if they weren't killed for such purposes then makes no difference. Can do the same to me for all i care once your dead that's all folks so not bothered what anyone does to me or anythign else once it's croaked

Good point Si........ wasn't killed to be stuffed so its better getting some use than being put in the bin.
 
I'm not bothered either tbh it's not like the lady is hurting anyone doing it, they are already dead. Some ppl like I don't and fine it very odd but each to there own. Obviously if she was killing animals in order to make them could understand it but don't see the difference of making art, feeding it to a reptile, being throw in the bin or buried it's dead. If you read the thing she actually seems to be an animal lover herself. xx
 
It's not something I wuld do or want but the world is full of freaky things. Wasn't there a woman who dug up her cats bones in Holland, she had a website about it. She made bags out of cats heads as well! 98)

I don't wear leather my bags are plastic as are my shoes! ;D
 
I'm not sure that we know for certain the piggy died a natural death, do we? And I think the cruelest part is the poor little mouse - I cannot say for sure but I seriously do doubt whether he/she was actually permitted to express a preference as to whether it was a good idea to be dressed up and pretend to drive a dead guinea pig!
 
oh god i remember that! the woman who killed her pets and made toys and clothes ut of them :o now that was sick! :tickedoff:

Wow I've only just checked back on this and am amazed by the response. Personally, I don't have a problem with taxidermy per se if someone wants to remember their pet (wouldn't do it personally) but I really don't like what this lady is doing with the animals!
 
woahhhh so many opinions its like a marmite advert ::)

doesnt bother me much really, whatever floats your boat, i dont like i wouldnt want one but i obviously have different tastes to other people, shes not breaking rules she obviously thinks its ok and other people must like it otherwise she wouldnt have a business :)

and i agree with Emma nobody goes round reporting leather handbags or shoes do they? ?
 
makes me feel sick. But, thats me I don't even like the stuffed animals you find in musemums and they are for educational purposes, but I still don't like it, let the dear things rest in peace, thats what I say. :'(
 
i personally dont have a problem with it but he/she isnt very good at it! it just looks rubbish!
 
That is the most bizarre item I have ever seen! But I have to say I agree with some of the other ladies, I would not personally have it on my mantlepiece, but, each to their own! (Though I would worry about her becoming a serial killer!)
This lady is obviously doing well out of it, (£245 for a dead guineapig being ridden by a mouse called 'chuffy'?!)
I think when I die I will have myself stuffed in an amusing position. Maybe I would make a good television stand. Thats the sort of useful taxidermy people are REALLY looking for! (I see a neiche in the market! ;))

ys the womean who makes them stated she either uses her own pets that have passed away, roadkill, and animals frozen for sale in the pet shops. She also uses animals donated by other people and does comission work for people who want to keep there pets.
 
This item looks so horribly horribly disgusting and I do not see any object in it at all. Yes I totally agree it was made by some weirdo, a sick weirdo. Was it sold at all or was it passed off, I do hope he didnt sell it
