DIY guinea pig hidey where can I buy wood that I safe to use for my piggies. UK 🇬🇧

Hi I thought this was the best place to put a post like this but i W ain’t sure so I just went with my gut feeling. You see I want to make my piggies a wooden hidey, but I’m not sure what wood is safe and where to get it from so some help wood be really useful thanks oh and by the way I also need little poles for a hay rack which will be incorporated with the design of the hidey. Thank you for your help. By the way I’m from the uk. Tysm.

Untreated wood from anywhere like B&Q or Wicks will be fine. You can use dowling for poles if it comes in thick enough size too

Ooh and I should just add to think about how you fix the wood together - it's not something I've ever looked at as I'm not that brave(!) but check out hideys in shops to see if they use staples or glue or whatever. Little nails or screws might cause problems if they can reach to chew at them?
