So I'm planning on making a 2 level cage my piggies cage is on a 6 drawer unit so ive decided to get a 3 drawer unit costing (€50) from ikea then buying a second cage i dont use my 100cm cage rn but due to my room being small a bigger cage will not fut so i have decided to get a second 100cm cage and build them on top of each other the second cage costs (€55) then cutting a whole in the bottem of the top cage and building a wooden ramp not too steep. Once i build this my piggies will have 200cm to themselves this two floor cage will then go on the new unit I'm buying as soon as i get everything i will post steps to building it. You may be wondering why am i building a two level cage 1. Its so much cheaper. 2. Most two floor cages are between 50-70 cm cages which i dont want i want my boys to have pleanty of room 20190219_213646.webp

I’m afraid that’s too small - piggies are ground roaming animals and need space to run around (zoomies), and get away from each other The minimum is 120cm on one floor. But as you have boys it’s best to go 150cm+. They need more space than girls. How old are they and what size cage are they in now?

They are roughly 9 months i have a 150cm cage now but its taking to much space in my room i thought a double cage would be big enough my boys only spend night time and work time in the cage other than that there always out

It’s good they’re always out but I’m afraid 100cm isn’t even the minimum recommended. Is there no way you could rearrange the room so the cage kind of ‘fits’ in? Is it on the floor or on top of drawers? I’d leave them in the 150cm and just continue having them out as you do now. What do you need the space for, storage?

Hi all, I’m planning on building the C&C cage for Chester and Bennie. I’ve found a grid that I wanna buy, the only problem is I need to build a door as they hate being picked up. How would I build a door? Thanks xx

I'm not too sure on how to do that i think the best way would be to leave a space in your c&c cage and have clips so u can clip on a grid as a door and easily remove it when u want to open the door

I made a ‘door’ in my c&c cage by leaving one grid attached only by the plastic ties on one side so it would open & shut.
I use an old water bottle fastener to clip it to the other side.
Don’t know if the photo helps.
