We bought our new girls Home yesterday so very early days obviously but they have absolutely no bother eating their veg/salad/herbs and mountains of hay but barley touched the nuggets? Do some piggies just not love their nuggets? All my previous piggies troughed them as soon as they were put in the bowl!

A lot depends on the pig and the nugget in question.
After my piggies all time favorite nugget was discontinued, they are now offered two different types on a daily basis.
One they do quite like, but will always choose to eat hay or fresh first, and the other they are very unimpressed by.

Mine have Burges, currently the oregano and black currant ones. I am going to shift them on to the mint ones as they are lower in sugar.

Mine switched from a junky food (beet pulp!) to Cavy Cuisine and they're kinda meh...they will have a nibble but often take one out my hand, bite it in half and drop the pieces! But they are slowly getting used to it, having nibbles, here and there...I'm persevering because it's so healthy!

Thanks...I bought the girls Asda nuggets but they are powdery/dusty! Will see how they get on with them. I almost bought science selective (always used these for bunnies and piggies in the past!) and perhaps I should have done!

The Science Selective nuggets have tiny holes in the middle that some young piggies can get their teeth stuck on. There's a thread about it somewhere, but those holes enable you to string them up in the cage as a treat :hmm:

I think the girls are just keeping me on my toes...bowl empty this morning! ;)
