Do antibiotics cause loss of fur?

Rosie has recovered (as far as I can see) from her suspected urine infection and is no longer weeing involuntarily and there are no pink streaks in it.

But I think the fur on her tummy (esp the lower half) is thinner with the hair appearing almost in fuzzy sort of lines, and the skin looks dry . . . is this because of the antibiotics she's been on?

I'm also wondering if it could be because of the wee she was losing (and maybe resting in sometimes?) would that cause the dryness?

The vet said to put sudocreme on her rear end . . . surely it would be ok to put it on her tummy then as well? What do you think?

It's not usual for piggies to lose hair because they are on antibiotics -

(although having said that, piggies are as individual as humans in their reaction to drugs and there could always be one exception rolleyes

It sounds most likely that the loss of hair is a mild case of urine scald - my Maple gets this when his arthiritis plays up and he can;t lift himself out of the way of his wee. His hair thins, forms into little tracks and his skin gets dry and pink just as you have described with Rosie.

I use a very small amount of sudocream rubbed into those areas which protects from further exposure and clears up the skin....(can;t say that his hair has ever grown back to its previous thickness though but he is getting on in years now)
