Do boars let off a scent?

My boars had some lap time tonight and every now and then I smelt something rather unpleasant :D At one point I thought one of them had pooped or farted! Do they like to leave scents like dogs?
 
Yes they have glands near their bum I think. However my boar stinks generally, loads more than the sows, he even smelt the day after a bath ;D
 
Yes they can do, especilly if you have girls around. ;D

Good God can they smell its rather unpleasent is'nt it ? why do sows find it attractive ?
 
My boys definately smell worse than the sows I've had in the past-maybe they've got the same smelly trait as teenage boys! :)
 
I've noticed this with one of my boars. It's a very sweet pungent smell. At first i thought he had been sitting on pee-soaked hay but as I change his hay every day it was unlikely. Then I noticed that my jumper where I had held him was stinking too!

Even after a bath, that pungent smell was back! It comes and goes.

My other boar seems unaffected.
 
it's not very pleasant is it? ;D i have to get the air-freshener out when my boys start
 
yup I got that the other night when Id been holding Spring,my top stunk ?
 
Only one of my boars seems to do it. The other night I had to leave the room for a while because it was that bad!
