How do your piggies react to fireworks? Just wondering seeing as it's coming up to that time of the year...

Didn't have the piggies last bonfire night but did have them at new years..can't remember them being bothered by them at all ;)

I havent had mine long enough to know yet but I'm having serious thoughts of going to see the vet about my spaniel as just a single bang of thunder n she cant cope. :'(

I doubt the vet will be able to help....Your only option is to put her in a quiet room with food, water, and a comfy bed and maybe site with her for as long as possible and talk to her in a soothing voice...poor yu, some animals do react worse than others :(

Pretty sure you can get medication and stuff for terrified dogs?

dilldog has medication every year ,one year he ended up with stitches in his face as he ran straight into a door frame and ripped a big "V" shape out (ouch),
the next year he tried to get into the oven as I was opening it to get the food out, for him it's just unbearable if he is on meds he just sleeps through it,much nicer for him :smitten:

Awwwwwwwww poor dilldog! :( Thats so cute, sleeeeepy boy ;D

How does it work? Do you always have a supply? As you dont really know what days fireworks are going to happen, so cant really go to the vet in advance :-\ ;D

Our vet is really good he's known dilldog all his life ,and known us twice as long! he usually gives us enough for a month but we use sparingly and only when totally necessary, they only take about half an hour to kick in so not too long! I have been known to sit in the cupboard under the stairs with him till they kick in if he's really scared 98)

Awwwwwwwww sammy thats just adorable, sooo sweet :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Mind you, I have a chinchilla this year, I wonder what he will make of it :-\ :o ;D

hopefully bob will be fine , have you posted any piccies of him yet ? :smitten: :smitten:

Scarby 0:) was terrified

Riffy and Rocky don't seem bothered. The little ones haven't experienced any yet.

Merls hasnt experienced fireworks in my house yet - when the time comes I will observe him

i dont lesve my piggies outside on bonfire night, my girls all live in the shed and i bring them inside so that they dont have chance to become scared, bring them in around 6pm and then put them back out around midnightish when they have cooled off, normally i bring them in a day before and a day fater too as people normally let them off quite a lot then. and my duke and meeka were born a day before bonfire night so they rae bonfire babies lol but i dont think they remember it at a day old and they were inside anyway ;D
