Do guinea pigs brux?

I have ten rats and i know they are contented when they brux (grind their teeth together) When i pet and stroke my guinea's they sometimes look like they are rubbing their teeth together, they make chirping noises. I was just wondering do guinea's brux?

Mine do grind their teeth together. I believe it helps keep them down.

Majority of mine do it - although very different to when they do the same when they don't like something, so I reckon it's good

Yes, thats what they were doing! Just sitting there happily grinding while being stroked and giving the occasionl little chirp

Is it like the noise when you pat them they make it? Like when you stroke fromhead to bottom and they make that noise? Its so hard to explain lol

mine do it mainly when theyre on my shoulder right next to my ear and it goes thru me ;D

They're not actually grinding their teeth, they sit and rub their incisors together, I think its a way of keeping them sharp

Yes, they do it when I'm stroking their forehead, i wasnt sure if it was contentment as the rats brux when their contented

yep i get this too, i didnt think guinea pigs would like to sit on your shoulder but truffles has started sitting on mine and brux's - it goes right through me too!

I agree,its always timed so it goes right down your earhole :o
