I assume they do... but it struck me yesterday as I was lying next to the cage watching George sleep. Not only were both his ears twitching and flapping which assume is normal sleepy pig behaviour as all of mine do it, but his eye was rolling all over the place and not in a way that looked as though he was merely looking around.
To be honest it did look a little bit strange- I couldn't get a photo without waking him.
His back leg kicked out a couple of times too.
I wonder... what do piggies dream about?

Gosh, I haven't seen anything like that before. Dogs do that paws and ears twitching thing sometimes when they're asleep, don't they, but I've never noticed anything like that with my piggies. I guess there's no reason why guinea pigs shouldn't dream though.

I just hope they have nice dreams about food, and not horrible scary ones about being caught!

I absolutely think they do. I haven't witnessed it with barney but there have been a few occasions when Toby has been asleep and has started quietly wheeking and leg twitching. Supercutes!

Both mine definitely do! Legs go a little and eyes moving around and sometimes twitching noses. First time I thought they were fitting! It's very cute and I dread to think what they are dreaming about. if you do wake them by mistake they often look a bit dazed as well!

I have had a few horses who whinny gently in their sleep and their legs and heads would move around. One was an ex racehorse and I often wondered if he dreamt about racing.

Not seen the piggies do it,but I did see my old Rabbit do it once - his face and whiskers were twitching away and he was 'huffing' -it was so sweet to watch,Knowing him he would likely have been dreaming abut food - or digging holes

My Dog used to sleep howl sometimes when she was dreaming,She must have been channeling her inner wolf :D

I have witnessed one of mine twitching in his sleep too and wondered whether he was dreaming. I think that they definately do but what they dream about I wouldn't have a clue but as mentioned above somewhere, I hope it's something nice. Bless them

The ear wiggle is typical Teddy when he is asleep. It happens as soon as he falls asleep
Which I also noticed and I don't really like is, sometimes when he is asleep he squeaks similar to when they ask for food, and he does it relatively loud, when that happens I always go next to him and pet him softly to calm him because it seems, to me, that he is having somekind of nightmare?

I think they probably do, though I have seldom seen my pigs sleep deeply enough to be dreaming. I had seen Linney (world's laziest pig!) kick her little feet like she was running while dozing on my knee a couple times, though. I know other animals definitely do... one of my dogs used to run in her sleep and bark without really opening her mouth so she was obviously chasing something in her head!
