Do guinea pigs gorge?

I just picked up a couple of 'living' salads in lidl for both sets of pigs and wondered if they would simply scoff it as its there or if they would pick at it happily? I thought they'd quite enjoy eating it out of a pot so to speak, but as they've only ever had portioned veg before I don't want to risk over indulged piggies. Can they have it as it is or best to cut it off the earth and feed it as normal?

Basically if I put that in their cages and let them 'play' and discover it, will I come back to four pigs full to their eye balls or would they come and go just picking what they need? I have no idea if pigs are greedy as mine have not had the chance before.

Maybe it depends on the individual, but if it's leaves mine would scoff the whole lot in one go.

I believe some piggies are much more restrained and dignified!

Okay thank you, I won't do that then if I got them out for floor time and left it out and they eat some that's okay isn't it? Bet they still stand there screaming for their regular veg later though! I just thought they looked 'fun' for them x

Your piggies will think its Christmas if you put that in their cage. I can almost guarantee they would scoff the lot.
My piggies can take a seed tray full of grass down to the soil in a few minutes!

Guinea pigs are basically appetites covered with fur.
You give food - they eat food!

Putting some out during playtime is a good idea - I do that too sometimes.
I put some into their hay bag so they have to forage in the bag.

They will certainly stand and yell for their veggies at the normal time.

My biggest one squeals with delight whenever the fridge door opens so I don't even know why I thought he could restrain himself thank you everyone. We are going to do floor time now with the salad... I can guarantee it will be us wrestling the pigs off of it after ten mins having had no running around or exercise at all

These are guineas in myths and legends only haha. Mine can be fussy though! They won't eat any fruit except buzz will eat a grape and they won't eat green beans or corn really. They love all greens, leaves and herbs. Oh and they won't eat peppers. Any of them. They like carrots and cucumber. Mine live in two sets of two in different areas of the house (as woody tries starting ww3 at the scent of the other pigs ) and funnily they are all the same fuss pots!
