Do guinea pigs snore, or is it weezing?

I was at a petshop today and I noticed one of the resident pigs was making a funny noise - sort of like a cross between a wheeze and a purr. I mentioned it to the lady and she said she had always made this noise, and it's just snoring.

Do pigs snore?

I have never heard of pigs snoring, any noisy breathing in them should be checked out by a vet as it could be a number of things wrong.

In the last 3 years I've had mine I've never heard them snore :{ Sounds a bit odd to me.

Thats easy - you just go in and say " excuse me, I spoke to a vet nurse last night about your piggy and she informed me that pigs don't snore. Any noisy breathing should be checked by a vet, and as you are in charge of the care of this pig it is your responsibility under the 2006 animal welfare act to provide veterinary treatment"

If only it were that simple! It took me ages to pluck up the courage to mention it today. Might get my Dad to mention it!

Megan snores but she is a very special pig with serious issues that will explain the snoring.
I've never heard our normal pigs snore.

Just take a deep breath, and think about how thankful the little piggie will be if it gets the treatment it needs
