Ok so I don't know if this is strange, but I have two pigs that really don't get on. So have seprate hutches, sometimes we have playtime and they all come our together on the floor. Normally get on fine on the floor, but yesterday pip went after orin to fight with him, and my other pig got in the middle to defend orin. Was stepping sideways around him and when ever pip came close would go for him? Is this normal or have I just got a super brave and caring piggy.

They are all boys for sure. And I belive pip is top pig in his hutch, orin is top pig in his hutch

Thank you x

Piggies will defend group mates and mums can be very protective of their babies. "Husboars", neutered boars living with sows, will also act as active peacemakers and try their best to diffuse any spats within the group that are not strictly dominance based (in which case he will not interfere as he is not part of the sow hierarchy).

Oh ok. thank you, it was sweet to watch. he jumped infront of the fight so stop it. Was like a little super hero pig. He does live with Orin so that explains it.

Thank you x

My Millie has done that in the past, when our neutered boar was going through a bullying stage and would go for one of them, she would step in and warn him off. Our old top sow Gertie (who Millie learnt from) did it too.

Slightly different but Tim protects Sophie from the OH when he is giving her her heart meds by running over and biting his foot as she shouts the flat down so he thinks she is in danger.

Never seen anything like it before. Was really stepping in walking sideways around orin. so pip couldn't get close and if he tried hamish would get aggressive. Makes you realise they. An love and care a lot. Very cute x

I have a girl who sometimes steps in to stop bickering. She just stood up and plopped herself between them and they stopped going their seperate ways.
