Do i have gunia pig allergie?

When i was petttind a g Kuma my gp i got itchy so i scratched the itch on my face and 2-3min later i had a puffed up face and red marks. What is it? it has been happening alot more after that outbreak and my parents want my gp out of the house. What should i do? I NEED HELP :'(
 
What are they housed on? When I first got my pigs they were housed on woodshavings and I had similar symptoms.
 
Yes Louise i agree, it could easily be the bedding, tho i have heard of one other of our members on here that had an allergy to her piggies and had to rehome them :'( she was devastated :'(
Give us some more details on their bedding and where you're piggie sleeps outside or inside? I'm sure then someone will help you :) :)
 
really hoping you're not allergic to your sweet kuma. hoping it is the bedding or something. but if you are allergic to GP's can't you get like injections to get you use to GP's? i know they can do this for people allergic to dogs, cats, horses etc. sending you hugs and cuddles and hoping things work out for you and kuma! :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
 
My brother is allergic to dust so the hay often affects him just like that. Its a good way for me to test if the hay is good or not lol
 
you could try taking an anti histimine like piriton but i couldnt take this as it made me drowsy and iv been told a cream called calendula works. i have to be careful not to touch my face after handling my cats until iv washed my hands. my guinea pigs bring me up in a rash at the moment but i just try and mimimise it by wearing gloves and putting on a moisturiser i keep in the fridge to calm the rash down. x
 
Well Kuma's bedding is kinda like a paperish stuff and carpet, idk why I'm getting itchy and reactions from him i give him baths and clip his nails all the time.
