hi guys so basically I just bought some new fleece at walmart for 5 dollars. I'm tryna wick it but i dont have any detergent. so do i have to use detergent to wick my fleece. i did 4 times rn but its still not working. should I wash it more

Yes you do. Try adding some vinegar to the fabric conditioner compartment. It does usually need washing several times.

what kind of detergent do you reccomed
also cna i still put the fleece in even if it isnt wicked propery

I use All Free Clear laundry detergent to wash my piggies fleece. I like it that it gets it clean and it is affordable too!

sorry for all the questions, but can i also use dawn dish soap becuase i have read some people using it?

Don't use dawn in your washer! That will ruin it! Just get some All detergent or any of detergents that are free from dyes and scents. Those ones will work well.

I think that’s a dishwashing (washing up) liquid. I would not use that but would stick to non biological washing powder

When you say it isn’t working, have you put it on top of something that is absorbing? If you just put fluid on fleece it will sit on top if there is nothing under to pull it through.

All prewashing does is take off any grease from the manufacturing process so I’m always perplexed by the multiple washes some people need, it shouldn’t really be that hard!

its just stays there when i was putting it on the fleece ( the fleece was on tp of three towels)
but I'm gonna go get detergent today so it shoud work then

Good luck! My narwhale fleece wouldn't wick for the longest time either. I Followed the fleece guide that @Siikibam posted. I finally had luck when I washed it with vinegar and the All then I tossed it in the dryer. No dryer sheets, as that messes up the wicking. It finally started wicking after 7 runs through the washer and dryer.

I think we’ve all learned lessons with fleece over the years. I remember buying a fabulous fleece once that just would not wick. Eventually I gave up. But in general most fleece that is 100% polyester should eventually wick but it may take several washes with non bio laundry powder to get it to wick properly.

I bought one that refused to wick after many washes and tumble dries. I gave up in the end! Funny thing is I saw others on here using it.

What do you use to wash your clothes? If it’s non-bio and unscented it should do the job.
