Was having little once over with Harry today and I think Ive found a scratch on his eye. I wasnt sure if there is anything the vet could do except say keep an eye on it.- excuse the pun ;)Also I wondered if I could get opinions on his feet also. The spurs are in a really akward place and I have to wait until they are bigger before trimming but is the dryness a normal about or should I go to the vet? Ive started putting suda cream on and they seem to be less red this morning.

All advice greatfully received.

Any damage to eyes needs to be seen promptly...
I've had many problems with eyes that had a small hay poke and ended up with an operation... So I'd say it's defiantly better to be safe then sorry...!
Just wanted to add- the eye doesn't look like it's serious but eye drops are always best to get in there as infections in eyes are awful... So where eyes are concerned I believe in preventative treatment... :)

As for his feet looks like a small bit of bumble foot... (but I'm no vet)
If you can buy some gorgeous guineas f&m cream that stuff works a treat for sore feet... :)

If I were you I'd go to the vets...

With the eye thing, i took a piggie to the vet with an eye problem becuase his had clouded over due to being poked with hay and in the end he was given just some eye drops that cleared the cloudy ness and left just a scratch as theres nothing they can do about that apparently (:

Eye infections should always be seen promptly by a vet; with the right care they can heal easily.

I would say the eye needs drops as mentioned and those feet look much like my Freya's did. I have bathed her in an anti-fungal shampoo and they seem a lot better now. May be a suggestion :)

I would go to the vets for the peace of mind if nothing else. As for the spurs they are exactly where Bumble has hers. I trim them myself now but the first time went to the vet to see how to do it as I wasn't confident (doesn't help that she's a little wriggler). The vet also suggested that alongside the regular nail clipping you can also use a nail file to take some of the hard skin off to prevent trimming. Haven't tried it yet though as I'm sure I have about 100 files and can't find a single one!

Thanks everyone- Ive put him on eye drops and going to monitor closely and sought advice from a couple of very experienced rescue people. It looks a lot better this evening as do his little tootsies. Suda cream is a wonder invention!
