Hi, so I git my two pigs from a rescue last December! They are brothers and the rescue swore they got on well. Since having them, dominance behaviour has never ceased: rumble strutting, going head to head, teeth chattering. They will hardly ever lie nearby one another and they now seem to be getting worse, and I've noticed that one pig has a mark on his back that could be a bite mark. This pig is also so much heavier and fatter than his brother who is quite thin and I'm worried he's hogging all the food.
Do I need to separate them or not? I have no room for another cage so it would mean giving one of them away :(

Hi! Please make sure that the pink mark on the back is not caused by mange mites - the distress from them can also contribute towards bad temper. Vet tests/examinations are not always conclusive.

How old are your boys? Here are are tips for boar bonds in trouble - from what you can do to help stabilise them as well as working out whether there is bullying and tips on how to minimise food hogging.

How old are they and how big is your cage? Do you have two of everything for them? Water bottles, food dishes, etc... My boys don't lay near each other or snuggle either.

Cage size is an important factor when it comes to boys. It needs to be quite large - the recommended is a 5x2 c&c which equates to 6ft by 2ft. Two of all equipment is necessary as well.
Some pigs don’t sit with each other. My two boys don’t.
