But was it for their own good? Also yes.

I shaved my two longhair girls today.

They look ugly. Poor Chia was my test subject, so her cut is… rough, to say the least, but she feels 100x better already in this heat. Sage had it a little better off but not by much.

The benefit of shaving, however, is that I was able to see that they still had remnants of ringworm on their backsides under all that fur. This way, I can get it treated and get them healthy.

The downside is that my job was poor at best and I’m now covered in white guinea pig hair.

Lol. I’m sure they will forgive you if some coriander was on offer?

Did you need to follow my hair cutting guide? Not a bad job for a first (or second) attempt. I hate shaving off all Betsy's beautiful mane too but it needs to be done so she doesn't overheat. You'll soon get used to seeing them with their shorn locks and it'll grow back.

I am learning to groom dogs at the same time so I had a relative idea of what I was doing but yes, I did give your guide a read. It was incredibly helpful!

I’ll do the manes this evening haha. I didn’t have a ton of time this morning but wanted to get their bodies done as it’s supposed to be 85F today!

My piggies also had to get shaved because of ringworm. They both look ridiculous, but it's kind of cute 😅 One pig is bald directly on top of her head and the other one looks like a horse from one angle now. OH I also had to edit this to add that this was not my cutting job, the vet did it lol

They are still gorgeous.
Glad you spotted the ringworm remnants and can get it treated.
Priscilla had her fur shorn a few days ago. I’m not giving up the day job!

She is…. upset with me to say the least 😂 poor Cinnamon. She is part aby so my shave job looks awful but it’s just her rosettes not cooperating.

That's a really great haircut, she looks all sleek and slim ready for her bikini or little black dress :)
Last year when I shaved Blodwen and Jezzy... well they really werent beach body ready at all, their was quite a lot of tubby tummy hiding under those winter pyjamas!

Don’t worry what they look like as long as they feel cooler in the heat that’s all that matters. you will be amazed at just how quick it grows back.
I use my husbands beard trimmer with a guard on Posh and she is like a spring lamb when she’s had it cut. posh is the cream one

When Priscilla has her summer fur do you can see her unusual colouring.
Her back end is cream on one side with a pale cream on the other side.
Her top end is black and white

It doesn’t come out well in the photo though.

Cinnamon’s white spot is way larger than it appears! Priscilla is gorgeous!
