i created this account just TO WARN YOU ! I HAD A BABY GUINEA PIG I RAISED SINCE SHE WAS A BABY AND I HAD HER FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF THEN I GAVE HER SOME CHEETOS PUFFS AS A TREAT ABOUT A DAY AGO AND IT KILLED HER ! I'm warning all guinea pig owners to listen to me.i've read lots of information about what to feed a guinea pig and what NOT to feed a guinea pig, and none of them said anything about cheetos.IT MESSES WITH THEIR LUNGS AND THEY CANT BREATHE ,I HAD TO HOLD HER IN MY HANDS AS SHE DIED .I JUST REGISTERED HERE TO POST THIS TO HOPEFULLY SAVE ANOTHER GUINEA PIGS LIFE.THAT IS ALL I WANT.
 
I'm sorry to hear about your guinea pig. Not quite sure what else to say about this without offending anyone so I'm going to step away. RIP little one.
 
Part of me thinks this is just a stupid joke, if it is, it's not funny, it's just stupid , if it's not a joke, then please don't own any further animals in the future.... :mal:
 
I'd think it'd be common sense that isn't something to feed them.....? I'm too not having mixed thoughts on it being just a trollish joke (which have been a large part of my existence on online forums and social medias), but never know.

I too think this is a troll joke. I hope to go it is because I refuse to believe anyone is stupid enough to give a guinea pig a cheeto. Sorry but it had to be said. But yes, a lot of school children are bored and finding things to do on the net, my guess is this could possibly be one of them entertaining themselves!
 
If this is real then I am so sorry for the little pig. For a start they are lactose intolerant and Cheetos are full of cheese (I can't eat them myself) and secondly it is a completely unnatural food for a pig. I think troll though too.

What!?! You mean i've been letting mine have a friday night bevvy all this time and now I can't? They are going to have to go into detox!
 
I know I know. Time to start looking after their livers i suppose!
 
Hmmm not sure if i buy this but if its true I'm sorry for your loss, however i would have thought it would have been common sense tbh
 
Perhaps we've just been doing it wrong all these years and infact Cheeto's are a steady staple part of their diet? :P
 
Remembering how in the beginning I was utterly, totally ignorant of what is and is not guinea pig food, I'm willing to give the poster the benefit of the doubt. I might have offered mine some Cheetos. But I'm keeping the lime and lager to myself, GPs are tea-totalers at this house, and they don't even get tea.
 
I am gonna lock this as it is not a current Health and Illness problem and will bump down current requests for advice if if it continually replied to. H&I is a very sensitive part of the forum and we don't want anything missed. Any questions pm a member of staff :)
