I'm always worrying that my pigs aren't getting enough vitamin c in their diet. Even though they have lots of nice fresh veggies, and their pellets are high in vitamin c.

I was looking at buying the vitamin c tablets that Oxbow sell. But then I was wondering whether they would actually eat them.

So are supplements really necessary unless your piggy is ill?

I would definitely say don't waste your money; they don't need them. As long as they're getting a varied diet with pellets and plenty of fresh veg, they'll be absolutely fine.

I just like to give mine vitamin C tablets as a top off. I crush one and put it on a slice of cucumber for each piggy. Before I did it they used to sneeze and a vet suggested I use the tablets. Since I used them, they rarely sneeze. :)

I have never supplemented mine. I just make sure they have a good variety of veg and their pellets.

Dito to that , wast of money ,unless your pig is not able or willing to eat veggies for some reason !

all you need is a moderate amount of varied veg , but don't over do it !
