Hi I currently have a trio of girls and looking to add another girl/ neutered boy to the trio but worried a quad won't work out, anyone have a quad of girls?

I've had four girls together. Since then I've added two more! But I had three months with the four living together and everything was fine. :)

Ahh thanks :) I've seen a gorgeous girl that needs a home she was given up to a rescue after losing all her litter :(

Yes, we turned a trio into a quad. It is still quite harmonious apart from season time :)) We had to extend the cage though. We also introduced a baby to our 3 established girls and I must admit it was the smoothest introduction ever as baby went to bottom of the hierarchy...

The one I would like to introduce is a 1 year old female she's had a pretty rough start I'm just worried our others may reject her I introduced a baby to our 2 to turn them into a trio and that went fine it's only because she's a year old

How big is the cage?

Yes, same area as 2x5 which is recommended for 4 piggies

Yeah :) my three girls have quite a big of space in it haha 2 of them love running up and down the ramp :p I just thought I have room for a 3x4 why not give them the most room I can give :)

We have a 3 x 4 C&C with 3 x 1 loft and we have 3 girls and 1 boy and it works very well. (see Guinea Pigs of the Turner Household on Facebook for pics and also posts on the forum on the caravanning cavies in the pics section). Have had a group of 4 girls before we added a boy on the loss of the matriarch. Dynamics alter slightly but both work well.

Thanks for replying :) your piggys look so relaxed :) it's good to know a quad will work :) I can't get her until after Christmas as I will be travelling to get her :) here is a picture of her

i think quads are meant to be more stable than a trio - i think! :)) i've only ever had two piggies at a time but would love a trio one day :)

i haven't used boarding so can't recommend anywhere, sorry. i think the vets we use offer it though (ashleigh vets whalley range) so that could be an option for you :)
