My piggies like Burgess Excell Fresh Forage. It costs about £3.50 for a one kilo bag. I was looking on the internet and discovered that I could buy Readigrass or Justgrass much more cheaply than this if I bought 15 KG at a time.

My question is ... are they as good? Do your piggies like them as much? Mine eat every bit of the Burgess Excell Fresh Forage but not every bit of any of other product that they have tried so far.

All three products seem to be the same thing: dried grass. Has anyone ever swapped between the products? If so, what were the results?

I use Readigrass for my guinea pigs and rabbits and all of them absolutely love it. Some people say it has a strong smell but I have never noticed it myself.
If I put a handful in the piggies cage it all gets eaten very quickly :)) I have to admit it does look really nice lol
I've never used the Excel stuff so I can't comment on how it compares.

I buy Burgess Excell Fresh Forage for my piggies as well and I tried out with them readigrass and honestly...they scoffed the lot not even noticing it was their usual excel! Even Harvey who can be very very fussy on what he eats (he used to be feed PAH nuggets, which i eventually changed to Burgess Exel nuggets and then onto the blackcurrents one (as a treat of my OH)...he now wont eat the normal ones silly boy!) :) Good luck! :)

I can't comment on how the nutrition of each compares.

I got a sample of Readigrass from the company that makes it and my piggies enjoy it. I can't say I notice a smell from it, but didn't have a whole load of it. I mixed it through their Excell fresh forage and they ate up both together.

My piggies adore Reddigrass andI buy it by the very large bagd as big as a bale of hay .The piggies hang about at the morning cleanout waiting for it to be put out for them.

My boys also love the readigrass and they have had the excel one and they seem to prefer the readigrass.

Why dont you send a email to friendships estates who makes the readigrass and ask for a sample and try it first?

:)

My piggies love readigrass, but don't really like the excel forage.

Mine like both the Excel forage and Readigrass but they definitely prefer Readigrass and I'd say it seems better quality too - greener & more lush. The Readigrass I've had always smells very strongly but it's a nice sweet smell.

I usually buy my Readigrass in Jollyes (although not all stores stock it). Can't remember the price but I'm pretty sure it's much cheaper than the Excel.
