:)p I was just wondering, does anyone know if the rspca homecheck if someone wants to adopt a guinea pig? If so, what is required to pass. I'm guessing a 4ft or bigger cage and a run for the garden. And obviously a clean and healthy environment. I know they homecheck for rabbits, but i'm not so sure about Guinea Pigs. ;)

I got Melvin and Parsnip from Walsall RSPCA:) they arranged for a more local lady to come and do the homecheck - min requirments for guineas 4 foot hutch and 4 foot run, once it was done was free to arrange collection of those wonderful boys!

Ok thanks! :)

I got Nerys and Nia from Walsall RSPCA, but had my homecheck by the local Covemtry RSPCA - it took a bit longer for the paperwork to come though, but it worked out in the ned, and we could go and collect them on the date we had been planning for.

Hi

We recently adpoted a bunny out of our area but from the rspca. Our local rspca came and did a home check, after being described as Bunny or Piggy heaven we collected our bunny later that day 35 miles there and 35 miles back but worth every mile. rolleyes

yes they do:))

I had a homecheck and they checked the cage, and outside area and went all within 10 minutesrolleyes

I do home visits for the Manchester & Salford Branch.

We insist on min 5ft hutch and 5ft run but incourage c&c set ups indoors.

I normally take 1-2 hours on my rabbit and pig home visits - I just love animal chat! :)

Hi

It maybe your goodself who came to do our home check about a month ago and we had lots of animal chat :) You will be pleased to hear our first bonding went according to plan and we now have bunny love.
As you may have seen, we are looking for a couple of piggies, let me know if you can help.

Thanks

I adopted Milly and Molly from the RSPCA at Walsall. When they were put on reserve for me, Walsall contacted my local RSPCA to arrange a homecheck.

A lady from my local RSPCA came to see me and rang through her go ahead for the adoption as soon as she left. She revisited about 6 weeks later.

If you have a hutch 4ft x 2ft minimum, have a garden and an outdoor run so that the piggies can access fresh air and lawn then I am sure you will be fine.

Good luck if you go ahead with the adoption. Keep us posted.
