My pigs have been chewing their new runs, so I went and bought them nibble wood things. I put one on the floor and hung one off the roof of the run, which they liked playing with, but haven't chewed yet. But will they actually use them? I don't know if they're flavoured (maybe I should lick them!) or why they'd chew them instead of the wood? Anyone with a wooden cage know if they'll chew the nibble wood instead?

Btw, I've never given my guinea pigs wood to chew before, :red it was never a problem since they eat dry food and lots of hard veggies, and their teeth never overgrew. They never really chewed the hutches much before either, just a little nibble.

The rabbits also got nibble wood because they've been demolishing their little house in their run!

My piggies love the wicker balls, the big ones with corn husks inside, but they ignore them little wood log types you can get.

Mine tend to eat cardboard, although I doubt it's any good for their teeth :)
Is there anything you can buy that doesn't taste nice to deter them from eating certain things cause that would be dead handy!

I was thinking maybe vinegar, but someone on here said that their pigs like vinegar and after they clean the cage with it the pigs lick the cages!

Do you think it would work if you cleaned the hutches/runs with pet-safe disinfectant, it might give them a bad taste and they wouldn't chew it?

The guinea pigs aren't too bad, but the rabbits are going to ruin their new run! You can see them thinking, "it's ok, Ciara will just buy us a new one" . . .
