I don't think that I've ever looked at a guinea pig and thought it was ugly. Do they exist or are they all beautiful?
Does anyone own an ugly piggy?

I think that depends on your view point....as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Nope, mine all are beautiful and unique.

I often wonder about ugly kids/babies... does the parent realise the child is ugly? I know that probably makes me sound horrible! But not being a parent and not wanting to be, it's something I'll never personally find out. Does every parent automatically think their child is beautiful?

As for piggies, I don't think those cute little faces could ever be ugly!

It's funny because I've seen plenty of babies and thought poor child, but not one piggy.

:lol!:WAAAAHHHHHH HAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH HAHHHHHHHHHH!! That made me laugh so much i nearly snorted my coffee ! i'm glad i'm not the only one that thinks that!

:agr:i know what you're saying, i'm afraid i find human babies mostly weird & ugly... there are a few that manage just about cute.... but not many!
i have a friend who says that the elder of her daughters was ok looking & the other was butt ugly, but the 'ugly one' is mid 20's and attractive now, probably more so than the older child. my friend told her daughter if the first child had been as ugly as her she wouldn't have had anymore! i have no children either but wouldn't that comment just mess with your head!

No... i think there are NO such things as ugly piggies, they are all gorgeously pretty or handsome, however my two are just a little better looking than all the others *****do you think i could be biased?*****:luv::love::drool::wub:
they are a species that whether young, mature or old makes no difference.... they are all booooooootiful:wub:

xx

I guess it depends on your opinion, but I've never seen one I thought was ugly! How could those little faces be anything but cute?

Of course not! :P

I guess it's all down to point of view. More fool them if anyone thinks any pig is ugly.

I used to think that there was no such thing as an ugly cat - and then I saw a Sphinx cat! But I think, like Katanamoon, that even the Skinnies and the hairless piggies are cute!

Once I saw someone in pets at home looking at a long haired pig and saying 'look at that pig, it's got rubbish hair'

They were lucky that I didn't say to them they've got rubbish hair. :(

I do think parents think their children are beautiful, I certainly do, but I look at other children and often think oh dear!
I never think that when looking at other people's guinea pigs. Obviously mine are the cutest :luv:

Haha that was definitely the right thing to do!

Aww I feel sad for the babies who aren't meeting societies conventional idea of "beauty" and yes every parent will think their child is beautiful in the same way on here most people would find every guinea pig beautiful!

As for "ugly" pigs. I took in Buddy because he was too "ugly". Buddy was an Abysinnian X and part mismatched Himilayan! He had one pink ear, one darker ear, white fluffy fur going in every direction, a touch of a darker patch off to one side of his face and to top it all he had pink eyes! He was certainly last in the queue when looks where given out but within minutes of meeting him I was in love. He was such a special piggy, so trusting and loving and I could never ever see him as anything but beautiful. I still miss him now even 2 and a half years later...

I agree. I'm at that age where all my friend's with babies post a gazillion images of their baby doing this or that - okay, some are cute, some.. ahh no.. However, I think the 'ugly' babies always look better when they've grown up a bit. I sound really mean but I have a beautiful friend who models on the side and her son is an ugly, ugly baby. However, he's around 2 now and is sooooooo much more gorgeous now! Now I don't mind her FB posts!

Buddy was beautiful and I really don't understand what people think is wrong with pink eyes. It has never crossed my mind. My Bob has dark red eyes.

I think it was the unusual combination of breeds more than just being pink eyed, he was the first of my piggies that my fella fell in love with as well :))

I have had 3 pinked eyed guinea pigs in the past and people told me they were ugly even though they were actually beautiful :(
People can be mean about the red-eyed pigs (and other animals.) I've never had anyone say that they were flat-out ugly, but I've had plenty of people say they are creepy and that they wouldn't want to own a guinea pig with red eyes. Which makes me sad... I've had two red-eyed pigs (Frenzy and Sundae) and think they are beautiful! I try to always have at least one with red eyes because I feel like they will have a harder time finding a home because so many people don't like them.

This Is driving me nuts!

I can't add
Below the quote so above it must be ::-S
See what we mean... No such thing as ugly piggies... Buddies cute &handsome. :luv:
He's just a cucumber munching pink eyed, fuzzbutt, just want to smoosh his fuzzy lil face, mixed breeds but adorable just the same :luv:

I still haven't found an ugly piggy :)

... &they dont have snotty nose,Marmite &chocolate covered fingers to smear over everything :)
We won't mention poop packages &pee fountains tho :-o

Xx

All guinea pigs are absolutely gorgeous. Personally I prefer the furry ones over skinnies, but I certainly don't think they are "ugly". And red eyes don't even slightly bother me, never have. It probably helps that my favourite colour is red, I wish humans could naturally have red eyes so mine could be red. I think I'm a bit obsessed with the colour red to be honest.

I have a PEW and she's lovely. Well, some of her fur is creamyish so I'm not sure she's pure PEW but that just makes her even more special! I also used to have a gerbil with red eyes, he was an absolute sweetheart. His brother did not have red eyes but he was just as equally cute.

One of my piggies, Doughnut (in avatar), is a rex hybrid of some sort. His fur is very frizzy, if a human has frizzy hair it's considered ugly but I think piggies look even cuter when they're all frizzy. I haven't seen many other piggies like him, he's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen, I love him so much. He is quite a big boy due to being a rex hybrid, so that makes him extra cuddly. :luv:
