just what goes through your piggies' brains sometimes?

I just had a food delivery from Tesco, and I was unpacking the food when I realised I'd ordered a pot of coriander (I now have two coriander pot plants. whyyyyy, Lorcán, why do you do this?!) and I went in to tell the boys the good news. And there was Comet, sitting quietly and patiently next to his bowl. No wheeking, no squealing, just sitting there.

To be fair the Tesco delivery guy found it as funny as I did but have you ever thought "just...why do you do these things?"

Yep often purchased things and then thought “did I really need that”? Nope

Comet was just waiting for the coriander to arrive before he started with his chorus of wheaks. Do Comet and Blitzen ever say "Boing, Boing, Boing" when they know its veg time? When mine know its dinner time I get a chorus of excited wheaks and squeals then when I get to the hutch and open the door to put the veg in the chorus changes to "Boing, Boing, Boing"! and stops only when they are stuffing their faces.

Poppy can usually be found quietly sat next to an empty bowl. In fairness she’s usually the one who’s emptied it and is clearly wishing it to be a self re- filling bowl.
If a Coriander pot has made it through my doors the girls’ acute sense of smell usually results in demands for at least a sample. For quality control purposes.
And @Lorcan you can never have too many herb pots when you have piggies. I thought you knew that.

The first coriander pot barely survived the last 6 weeks lol, and *I* can't stand coriander at all. Comet can't stand it either, which makes him perching by the food bowl all the more entertaining.

Oh my word. I thought all piggies loved coriander!

My lot used to think I was poisoning them with coriander but then I decided to try it again and a pot of it only lasted about 3 minutes! I think they like it now! They love parsley too!

Parsley and thyme are top herbs in this household, and they'll both nom at mint as well. I put coriander in for Blitzen because he'll eat it, but Comet'll just sniff at it and then go off for something else. He used to eat it fine, apparently reaching adulthood refined his tastebuds?

The first time I fed Buddy and Peanut coriander they ran and hid! Lol.

Also if peanut spy’s an empty bowl he likes to throw his wooden watermelon toy into it so it dings. And then he picks it up and drops it again! Lol ding ding feed me now hooman. He’s done this a few times now. Lol

I tried mine with mint and they turned up their noses at it not tried thyme yet. Can they have basil too?

Our Dave is a cheeky sod, the bowl is always empty because he stashes the food away in his carrot cottage. I swear he is a hamster in disguise! :lol!:

according to Google, yes, though I doubt mine would eat it, I know they won't touch sage. I'm surprised they'll even eat thyme tbh, it's so strong, but it's their favourite treat food, the both of them.

@Tim Blitzen's a food hoarder but hilariously it does him no good because Comet just steals it back off him if he fancies it. I don't even put their veggies in bowls, just scatter feed them, because they're so likely to steal each other's food it's pointless lol. Food stealing is a teatime game favourite :))

Mine always sit and wait near their empty food bowl expecting me to fill it up everytime I enter their room. Greedy piggies :D

I once brought them mint knowing full well they don't like it and neither do I so that was a 'why did you do that' moment.

Trudie always thinks every time we pass the cage to go anywhere, that we are bringing her things! Yesterday I bought a tonne of parsley, forgetting I had a tonne in. Oh well!

Wanna trade some parsley for some coriander?

I bought some Dill the other day and completely forgot I had it and i often have a ton of veg in the piggies container of food and just stare at it all thinking I have nothing I can feed them lol. Patchy will often spend ages licking her pellet bowl when it's completely empty with not even pellet dust in it and then when I go to hand feed her some veggie she will run to the end of the cage and wheek at the wall and completely ignore me until she realises the wall doesn't have food, somehow though this never sinks in. She is quite fascinated with the wall and now so is Coco except i'm not sure Coco actually knows why, Coco is meant to be the smart one.

It's like when Blitzen is running away from something he runs through the log tunnels, but if I have food at the cage bars he insists on climbing over the log tunnels instead. I think, in his hurry to make sure Comet can't have all the food, he forgets how tunnels work
