When you wont be home to feed the piggies on time?

I'm going out with my Daughter this afternoon and then on for dinner at their place. So wont be home until about 8pm when I usually feed the piggies at around 4.

I will, of course, give them a pile of grass to eat in addition to their hay, but I still feel guilty!

How ridiculous am I? as if the piggies can tell the time and will be sat tapping their paws impatiently!

Or will they ........................

I bet they will be at the bars squeaking like mad when you get home, telling you to hurry up. That's what mine do if breakfast is late. I'm 100% sure they know.

About an hour before they get their dinner (pellets) mine start getting really loud and excited every time they see me get up. They really do know it's food time.

I often feed a bit late and usually my mum will do the feeding for me. On the times when I feed them late I often find them resting or sleeping very calmly and as soon as they see me it's high drama!
Don't worry!

My girls absolutely know when it's dinner or breakfast time, if you go into their room when it's not feeding time, no one bothers to get up, if it's feeding time, there's wheeking and standing up at the bars and running around. They defiantly let me know when I'm late too, but they'll forgive you as soon as the food comes.

I always feel guilty. My Ophelia is like clockwork, every night at 11.20 she wheeks for her pellets as she knows that is when we top them up.

Yep, I can't turn over in bed after 6am or the piggies think I'm getting up - and that means breakfast time. They wheek like mad and run zoomies everywhere until I get to them. I actually kneel down in their cage and hand feed them at breakfast, and they are running about my feet now, so I've got to be careful not to step or kneel on them!

Always. And they make me feel extra guilty by acting like they're never been fed!

My lot know when its cuddle time. I went outside yesterday about an hour before normal cuddletime and they were wheaking at me for cuddles. I had a bit to do so at the normal time between 7 & 8 in the summer I got them out and they all had lovely cuddles and then it was back in the hutch for veg time. Cuddle time is earlier in the winter between 3 & 4 otherwise it is too dark to see my piggies outside in the hutch. They are very well wrapped up for the winter months outside with lots of warm hideys, snuggle sacks and snugglesafes and lots and lots and lots and more lots and even more more lots of hay! I have also insulated the floor.

I do, but then again I feel guilty every time they scream for food, even when they just got fed. Then I remember that they aren't starved and just love trying it on.

I once had to leave work between a double shift just to go and feed the pigs, or I would be worrying too much about them. I asked my team leader would she leave her dog without food for 15 hours...so she had to let me pop home after that.

I just got home, bit earlier than anticipated!

Guess what? they were fine! A lot of poops and wee to clear up, Colin's butt to deal with, as usual and now they are eating their tea!

I wish I wasn't such a worrier :hb:

I know I do, like the piggies are going to starve to death or something. Right now I am a hour late feeding the piggies their brekkie as I got a phone call and now my partner is in the kitchen cooking his bacon and eggs and the kitchen is so tiny there isn't enough room for both of us. I'm already getting the stink eye from Coco, it's her specialty and she's so good at it that I can feel the frosty vibes piercing the back of my skull right now as I type this lol.

Making the piggies wait for breakfast? What? You cruel and heartless piggie slave @Kylie80. Don't you know it's a case of yes sir, yes madam would you like your pellets on a silver salver this morning?
