Am just curious as to what categories other people's pigs fall into. Any really naughty pigs-and why? Any really hassle-free pigs?

Pablo rates as my naughtiest pig, he's obsessed with chewing the bars - it drives me INSANE. Am currently in the process of seeing if putting vick's vaporub on the bars will deter him.
Tammy follows in second place, an occasional bar chewer, however her worst trait is sitting at the front of the cage in the morning staring at me to wake up, as soon as I stir she's waiting, when she squeaks, everyone squeaks.
Bella, Shy and Brock are my better behaved pigs :)
Mouse and Robin are somewhere in the middle!

Squeak can be nice and naughty! When she's out for playtime she goes out of her way to cause trouble! She chews anything and everything that she possibly can! Which even includes my clothes most of the time!
When she's in the hutch she's very well behaved though! rolleyes

From naughtiest to best behaved:

Minnie - top piggy although the smallest, she is very dominant and cant be narky with the others and chatters at me.
Toffee - she is just mishevious
Lilly - although he has been with us for nearly 5 years he will still not sit still to be picked up, although he loves cuddles and a good fuss
And Scrummy - she is only a year or so old, but she is the tamest, most gentle loving piggie, she is quite shy with the others and just does as she is told, she is very sweet.

xx

Charlie is a chewer. Anything from phone chargers to socks, he'll eat it. He thinks he's boss and he makes a lot of noise if he sees Kenny near his house but he hasn't worked out Kenny is a sneaky pig. When he goes to eat nuggets, Kenny will race round the other side of the cage, jump into Charlies bed and eat his hay, then jump out again as soon as Charlie finishes.

Misty is my naughty pig, she managed to find a gap in the run and led the girls on an escape to the kitchen. We found her sitting on the floor eating photos she pulled off the fridge. If I come near the cage, she uses Peaches to climb on so she can get closer to the bars.

Peaches is well behaved but very shy, hates being picked up and she won't eat if anybody is near to the cage.

Basil is the worst behaved. A complete nutcase. Bar chewing and if the catches aren't down right he can open the cage and hop out for a run around! Buddy is the best behaved, I can put him down on the floor and tell him 'go home' and he goes back to his cage and climbs in. A complete angel!

Nutty is a bar chewer as well but not quite in the same league as Basil and Nibbles can be a bit of a grumpy old man! I love their little personalities!

Mine are generally fairly well behaved although of recent Noah has become obsessed with pulling up the fleece and going underneath, I have to get them back out like 4 times a day. No matter how many clips are holding the fleece down, he WILL find the 'weak' point in the cage, and he will burrow.

Leeland - after months of treatments she used to be a horror but she's so much more patient - she's a dream piggy. Though she definitely has the most personality and ever since Vincent has come on the scene she is much more rumbly about being stroked out of the blue! The most brave piggy aswell, learning kissies for treats came easy to her! (She bobs her nose on your lips repeatedly!)

Vincent - a gentleman, quite reserved and can shy away from off the cuff strokes unless you talk alot so a bit of a bother to socialise with. Learns from Leeland that we're all ok in the end though. However he SCREAMS the house down for food when he thinks it's 8am/7pm (and he's usually pretty close). Funny at first but if you have housemates in the morning who are still in bed it's usually a mad rush to the cage whispering "SSSHHHH SHHH SHH.. ok ok ok!"

Pinky - Very good with affection if she's in a good mood, will lick and groom you back but does have the tendency to nip really hard if she see's nails.. she must think they are super manky matted hair areas, which isnt too far from the truth.

Perky - super nervous, but warms up if Pinky is chilled. Has the most angelic eyes when she's excited. Pancakes regularly! The least naughty of all the piggles.

LOL I totally love this!

found a solution to the bar chewing, will post as a new topic in general chat x

Spike is my naughtiest, he's a cheeky little sod. He's a chewer, climber and jumper and knows no fear. He used to be such a sweet timid little thing when he was younger. When he's out he climbs everywhere and keeps jumping off the settee without warning, and I can't leave him unattended as he's gone in the blink of an eye! He never sits still. He's a funny little guy though.

Smudge on the other hand is as good as gold!

Hmm, where do I start. Naughtiest by far is Barney who lives with his 10 sows, he has bullying tendencies and picks on poor Jess and Star, this is currently being monitored and may result in revised living arrangements. When not bullying he is continually going round working out who to hump.

Then the skinny divas who insist on sharing the same damn cozy, so much that if Phoebe is already in it, Katie will reverse in on top of her, lots of screeching ensues, Phoebe comes flying out and then jumps on top of the cozy from on top of the dog bed.

Tim, currently lives on his own due to quarantine requirements, good as gold in his cage, but get him out and he is constantly looking for trouble, he chews everything he can, including carpet sweeper chargers if the OH forgets to move them, and then during cuddle time he raids my pencil case that is usually sat on this side. He has the same glint in his eye that Nigel had.

Millie Moo, Madeline, Little Rose and Emma all chew the rubbish bag mid clean and Millie Moo is often found behind me in the hall now she has discovered that the hay is kept in the hall cupboard.

Then don't get me started on the hamsters pulling my pyjama bottoms into their balls so I trip up.

This is Hyacinth, and she is by far the naughtiest guinea I have ever known! My pigs are bedded on fleece blankets. They used to be held on with the cage top, but Hyacinth burrowed under them, so I started pegging them on. The little monster uses her front paws to pull the fleece down so she can escape underneath! This is in spite of being provided with pigloos, tunnels, cosies etc!

Good thing she's so cute! I call her my ASBO pig!

SNAP! My Tia is an ASBO pig, she is so naughty. She loves sitting on top of the other pigs, in coseys or just on top of them generally. IF any of the girls start squealing you can almost guarantee Tia is to blame. All hell breaks out when she comes into season rolleyes.
She also escaped from the weighing bowl a few weeks ago and decided to do circuits round the back of the two cages- making it increasingly difficult to get at.

Tia's infamous picture.

Rosie used to be a good piggy before we got the three gingers, now her naughty side starts to show. Rosie is one of the reasons we don't have fleece in the cage, that and it was really high maintenance, as her and Tia would chase each other underneath it. All fun and games in my house. She also managed to squeeze behind the two cages and sat at the back where I couldn't reach her, stretching her neck to get the yummy veggies I offered but never coming far enough to get picked up. Her and Tia make up my naughty twosome.

Esme is my best behaved piggy. Only demands food all the time but is generally very good, doesn't kick up a fuss when picked up and is generally so laid back she is almost horizontal.

Ruby isn't naughty, just a bit of a strop-bag. She is quite possessive and likes to kick piggies out of coseys etc. But she is the most loving and gentle piggy, will nudge your hand if offering food and take it ever so gently without snatching. Unlike Esme.

Very sorry I have used this thread as an excuse to post pictures of my naughty pigs ;)

I love your post klee and your pictures! The cage set up is fab and your pigs are beautiful! X

Naughtiest would have to be Gilbert. Gilbert loves to make a right boar stink. When I take him out of the cage, he runs straight over to Romano and Matthew's cage and rumbles, trying to get their attention and moving slowly up and down their cage. The two boys look at him but mostly ignore him. I call Gilbert back over and he rumbles at me and slowly walks over rumbling or I have to go over and fetch him. His goal in piggy life is to be the dominant of all 3 boys. He's very well behaved when it comes to handling him though.

Second naughtiest I am unsure... the other 3 boys are pretty well behaved. I guess second place, narrowly, would be Matthew. He's my newest lad and such a lovely boy but he has an obsession of chewing the bars like a typewriter on the same bar back and forth until he gets his veg. He likes to take it from Romano's mouth ending in tug of war. He's pretty good with handling and was an angel when I gave him a bath for the first time the other night. He always follows me around and will come over when called though.

Third naughtiest would have to be Ludwig, though I'd say he and Matthew could be equal. Ludwig is a lovely boy and my favourite out of them all (don't tell the others ;) ) He loves to eat from my hands and follow me around the room but hes a little stinker when it comes to grabbing him. He HATES being lifted from his cage so much so that I've started to pull out a CC grid so he can walk out.

Romano would be my angel. He's extremely laid back, lets me pick him up with no problem. He lets Matthew steal his food and goes back for something new and he's just a lovely boy. The only thing he hates is when I have to cut his hair. He likes to pee on me to show me his displeasure once I'm finishing up. He's the dominant but so laid back. He's happy to sit and do his own thing whilst his cage mate runs around playing despite being the younger of the two.

Ahh that boar stink! It knocks me! They sound very amusing :) I've had issues with the bar chewing too until 2 days ago-I wondered if putting vick's vaporub on the lowr bars would deter my serial bar chewer from the habit. It works a treat, you need to renew if every 12 hours or so but it really is effective xx

Gilbert loves his boar smell. As soon as I put him back in the cage he charges around knocking things over and restinking up the cage so its nice and stinky again. I feel sorry for Ludwig often living with his stinky counterpart. xD;

Matthew is only a bar chewer when it comes to me stepping into the room with food or at food time. He doesn't do it the rest of the time. Romano's ex cage partner Corey was a constant bar chewer though. He did it 24/7. I wish I knew about the vicks trick back then. I tried everything to stop him. xD; My parents were relieved when I had to get rid of him. (He attacked Romano, not because of him being noisy)
