Who has a vet fund for their piggies then? How do you save it? Like, do you put a certain amount into a jar each week, or a certain amount each month into a bank account?

Jane :)

I have a vet fund for our animals and our rescues, I also have a credit card specifically O0 for us just in case bills are huge and the fund can't cover them all, we have so many animals if they all or lots of them suddenly have problems it is nice to know the credit card is in reserve

i dont, as i work and I'm paid weekly.. i have some savings so should a big emergency ever coccur then i have money available to use, but i also use it for my holidays, new clothes etc.. but generally my vet costs are under £40 if its just a general thing that needs antibiotics so i can just take it out of my wage :) but thne again i still live at home so i dont pay bills except my phone bill and my board..lol

I don't have one persoanlly but my mum has a credit card for emergancys that she will let me use aslong as i give the money back O0

but both me and mum are going o save one up ourselves in a jar putting something away each week, also to cover food, toys etc.

That will help incase i need a vet straight away adn mums not here so i'd be buggerd, savings ina jar sounds a better option but i'm lousey at aving :-\ :P

I kind of have one but it's just money which I'm trying to save in my purse and of course that doesn't really work ::)

Opened a bank account on saturday, hopefully that will all be sorted soon then the money in there will be mainly for vet fund :)

kind of i have a cat jar which i always have atleast £50 in, but thats for all pets and any other emergencys :)

We have overdraft plus money and if for some reason that wasn't enough we would do without stuff for ourself instead.

Yes I have a big quality street jar from christmas that I put money in! i am trying to be a good girl and get rid of the mountain of clutter i have that i just don't need. lately everything has been going on ebay and anything i make goes into the jar. :) one of the guys in work came up with a good idea as well....everytime you get a £2 piece you have to save it in the jar, after a month he's saved nearly £100!

my OH has always saved his 2pound coins and still hasnt used them :) :)

I'm going to get a jar, make a hole in the top and superglue the lid on so I can't just take the odd pound out.
When I really need to use the money for the pigs i'll smash it :)

Not at the moment.I dont go out and spend my money on rubbish drinksFood though.I practially keep my money all the time so i just use what i have. Also my mum would lend me some money if the guineas needed a vet. :P

My parents are my vet fund :P If I ever got a big bill (*touch wood*) - I'd pay my parents back or at least put money towards it.
Can't wait until I find a (decent!) Saturday job.

I have a vet fund and its worth having some put by you never can tell when it might be needed. :)

started one this year, I am putting £1 a week in a jar you dont notice it going anyway, average vet bill for me is about £15 so in 4 months I will have over that, if he needed anything major then I have the credit card.

yes but christmas called and i had to use the card :(, will be back on track in a bout six months though

I did ? But i accidentally spent it over Christmas for presents for people :D But i am starting to save again now and i have only so far got saved £60 but thatll do for now untill a few weeks time ill have some more O0

I'm 31 with no kids so I'm always ok for the unexpected thank god, plus OH is the best saver i know so if we ever got landed with a silly amount bill that i couldnt manage he would help.

Biggest bill i have had not piggy related was £360 when my Herbie (cat) got sick and had to have him PTS aged 11 cost also included cremation fees. :'(

Our biggest bill for our rabbit was about lindsay. His back left leg got broken!

Oh no what happened to him and how did he get a broken leg :'(

Our bun is free range in his own part of the garden but is locked in his hutch at night and we watch him during the day.
We let our dog out to run around and she hurt him. He always follows her, which she usually ignores and we watch the dog nr the rabbit. He went to the vets and had it fixed but he had to keep returing for about 6 weeks.
He's brilliant now though O0 O0
