If so how do you go about it please? I need this info for the guide I have almost completed. I don't have any experience with this as Betsy is very good at keeping still while I snip away. I would very much value your opinion for the guide. You will be name checked as will your piggie and you will both be famous!
Thanks very much for your help.

i have a lunkarya and she’s very skittish and scared. i kind of wrap her in a blanket ( with a little breathing hole of course ) and put her on my lap. then i lift her bum a little bit up and snip away. i haven’t had to do a full haircut because she’s only young but i find it’s easier to do a little bit often instead of one big trim. (: sorry i don’t have any photos.

Priscilla is not always cooperative and often acts like a diva.
She jumps and tosses her head if she thinks the scissors are anywhere near her.

I place a bowl of herbs under her nose, clamp her with one arm and snip as much as I can before she scoffs all the bribes. I’m not going to win prizes for piggy haircuts.

Anymore additions to this please? I would like to finalise the Guide by end of next week.

My two cents. We have one very fussy long haired guinea pig (Edgar). He's a drama queen and hates his butt being touched. He yowls at us very forlornly when he needs a hair or nail trim. We regularly find his hair trapped in his anal sac 🤦🏼‍♀️ so he needs trimming often.

We've found that attempting a haircut during his sleepy hours (most of the day hah) helps, as he isn't all energetic and riled up.

We have the best success with luring him into one of those PVC plumbing tubes, it's about the same length as him! It's a nice snug size. My partner distracts him with food, I snip away as best I can. Edgar pees everywhere. We can lure him further into the tube with food and it let's me trim different layers of his hair.

I have a coronet piggie who is really skittish and hates haircuts. What I do is put him on my lap, hold him still with one hand and snip with the other. I also feed him some of his favourite veggies, try to limit the amount of time I spent cutting his hair and only cut a little at a time. Hope this helps!

My piggie is a diva too! 🤣

I have two very long haired pigs and one with long bum hair. The two long haired are the most Diva like - especially Tina who will kick out with her back legs when I try to trim her fur anywhere on her body. They both wheek as if I’m killing them but I just get on with it and they usually settle down - except Tina can get very teeth-chattery at me. If I feel like I’m getting nowhere I will usually get my husband to hold them while I trim round their bits - but I can usually trim with scissors and clip in summer months.
