I recently had a new piggy, and first thing I noticed was her very sharp nails. My arms look like I'm an emo. However, my older guinea pig has quite blunt nails, and I don't cut them. I let them wear off by themselves. The new one is 4 months old, and the old one is 2 years old. So, is the age? And do baby piggies have sharper nails?

Yes younger piggies nail do tend to be sharper then the older pigs,
Btw saying your arms look like an emo's is a little bit offense to people who have struggled with issues like self harm
I don't think there was need for that to be mentioned in the first place?

I don't even know what emo is to be honest, but I got the reference that it's lots of scratches.
When Admiral Jellicoe is in for cuddles, he enjoying making my chest a pin cushion for sure.

Emos are people who cut themselves. I am not one, but my arms looks like it. It is not something to joke about, but I swear I am not just joking. My arms genuinely are full of scratches. Which kind of look like the pictures I've seen, without the blood.

Well I learnt something new, my niece has that issue, but never knew! Well perhaps we shouldn't mention that then so not to cause offence on the forum.
Look at the edit on my last message. :)

Vabbit I approciate that you were just joking and that you've now said it's not something to joke about so thank you for that,
I just didn't want people who are struggling with self harm to see something like that on this forum and feel bad about them selves because of it.

Also emo and self harm aren't mutually exclusive, an Emo is generally someone who follows a certain fashion trend, many people who are 'Emo' do not self harm.
Where a self harmer is someone who deliberately harms themselves as a way to deal with intense emotional pain and frustration. Self harmer tend to be younger people but many older people also struggle.

I was a self harmer for many years and have lots of deep scars on my arms from it which will never go away,
I'm in a much better place now but i will admit your comment struck a nerve, and I can imagine it would have hurt someone like me when I was younger and in a lot of pain,
I would hope as a forum we would try to keep our site a place of happiness for everyone as our animals can help us get through tough situation :) :)

Yes I agree with you @TheLottiediarys Self harming is not something to joke about.

I know this is from ages ago, but i need to address this.
I am emo.
An emo is not necassarily someone who self harms , but instead someone who listens to panic!at the disco, fall out boy, my chemical romance ect.
Also they wear dark clothes and hoodies. They usually have dyed hair and peircings. They are not always depressed. They are usually nice, normal people who just like certain music and fashion

I am closing this thread due to the controversial and potentially upsetting nature of the comments made as well as it being over 2 years old
