Mine don't and I wonder if they can! If so, can you share your tips on how you managed this? My piggies are pretty stupid, but i'd love for this to be possible!
~Thank you!

Betsy and Meg know their names as did Christian and Dennis (both of whom toddled of to the Rainbow Bridge within 4 days of each other 4 weeks ago) and Velvet knew her name too (who went to the Rainbow Bridge 14 months ago) I adopted Patsy in September and she is just starting to know her new name (she was Patty but that name didn't suit her). I call their names and pick them up. Whenever I give them a treat I say their names. Just keep repeating their names before you do anything with them and they will soon learn what their names are. All of mine (with the exception of Patsy) I've had since 2016.

How long have you had your piggies for?

Yes! Hubby used to tell me that they don't know their names, but I always notice that whoever I call the name, whatever he/she is doing, he/she would stop and look at me, like saying "What do you want now?!?!". 😂😂 The others would just continue with their business, unless I call them too. This is especially true when they are doing something naughty and I catch them doing it. 🤣

I think they react more to my voice than their names. Especially Lulu. If I'm walking through the sun room, they'll both run to hides but if I say something, Lu will come out and Lollie may or may not follow. She probably thinks I I have snacks tho.

I dont really use their names when I talk to them. If I go upstairs (they are in the spare room) they whistle like crazy at food times and not at any other time!

They can, when I call my piggies Oreo or S'Mores they know I am talking to them, however they also know I am talking to them because I am looking at them. Thats why my piggies respond to multiple names!

Mine both think their name is Poppy or Pops as it’s usually her that’s attention seeking 🤣 They def know my voice as they’ll be quiet when my Daughter and partner talking in the morning and go weeeping bonkers as soon as I pipe up... and they live downstairs 🤣 Just talk to them lots x

Eevee 100% knows her name. Even if I’m not talking to her she reacts to it and glances over.
Joey (profile) I am not sure on. He tends to glance over at me but I’m not sure if he does understand it.

Yugi I believe knows but she doesn’t care and happily ignores me because she’s an independent piggy determined to be trouble.

Strange - mine all know their names really well thought most piggies would. Only because I call their names individually when I hand feed them their veggies everyday and will often call them to give them their food if they don't come out at first then they do. They could perhaps just think it's their own personal call for food. 😂

Mine all know their names as well - I use them when hand feeding. They often choose to ignore me calling when they want to, though! They also collectively react to „monkeys“, „babies“ or „hey guys!“ :)) I needed an overall name that gets all of them to the bars without having to shout 4 names. Lazy, I know! But it works :))

Today is the first time I've had evidence that the boys do know their names.

Every morning I handfeed them a pellet each getting them to walk onto my hand first to say good morning. So thismorning spud came running up and put his front paws on my hand for his treat (he is the dominant boy so Gundham usually stands back until spud has finished) but spud was demanding more almost crawling up my arm for more treats. Usually I would pull my hand up and move it closer to Gundham but this time I just said "no it's gundhams turn" and they just swapped places without any squabbling at all.

Mine all know their names, and come to the bars when called, unless they need medicine in which case they run and hide when I say their names! If I accidentally call Piggle, Puggle she sprays wee and walks off in a huff.
They also know their herd names, the PigglePuggles or Wheeky Blinders in one room, and the PigWigs or OllieOolahs in the other. If I refer to Ollie as a Piggle he looks at me like I is stoopid and have come to the wrong house- clealy he is Ollie PigWig!
They all answer to "Pinnygig" and "Wigs of Guinea" though because usually that means I have drunk enough wine to be indiscriminate with the coriander :)
