Do Your Piggies Cough Like This?

Mine do it sometimes when they are eating too quickly! I always end up running over... but they're fine, they just like to keep me on my toes!

It's a choke it up reaction to eating too quickly. Our ChickChick is a regular.

Comet does it regularly, lol. His own fault for trying to inhale his food instead of eating it.

Mine do too... but my older ones never did.
Scared me to start with as it sounded like a coughy sneeze so thought they were ill arghh

Mine do it too, Praline will attempt to inhale his dinner on a daily basis because he's a greedy little piglet who doesn't learn! Must agree on the hiccups being scary at first too, although I will admit...I did get a giggle out of his miffed face everytime he hic'd once I'd realised it wasn't serious!

Comet hic'd one day right as I was picking him up. I don't know who got more of a fright tbh.

Gizmo coughs once in a while when he wolfs down too much food at once and my daughter has heard him sneeze once. We haven't caught our baby boar doing either yet.

Hiccup? What does it sound like? I don't think I've ever heard it and now I'm scared XD

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say they sound terrifying, lol.

It's a sort of...full body hit of a squeak/cough? Much like in a human, tbh! Praline hates it, but as I have patiently explained to him many times whilst being blithely ignored, if you insist on shovelling food in practically whole, this is what you get! *snort*

I hate the hiccup. It's hard to explain but their whole body seems to heave upwards and then as explained they make this weird sound for a few seconds. I hasten to add if they do it a lot or for long periods then you should go to the vets but Its usually because the greedy monkeys are gobbling food too quick!
