Both of my boars have been reacting quite a lot in their sleeps lately. Oreo makes a lot of different sounds, and today I caught Shoyu RUMBLESTRUTTING (butt-wiggling and all) while sleeping. It was awfully funny, as he had his eyes closed, lying down, but still moving his rump.

So I was thinking: does this happen a lot with you guys?

We've notice some of our Piggies over the years have dreamt in their sleep. We've noticed twitching noses, ears, legs and vocalisation.

Haha it’s funny you mention that, my boar Iggy often rumbles and butt sways in his sleep! He’s even woken up suddenly and quickly completed a rumble cage sweep to make sure no one’s there 🙄 Sometimes the girls look like they’re dreaming with the odd twitch here and there as well but not quite as much as Iggy it seems. It’s so cute though!

Yes my Jess has always appeared to be dreaming, little head twitching and legs going! Then jumps up like a nutter bless her! Scared me when I first got her (as I’m epileptic and have nocturnal seizures!) but realised after a while she was probably just running around an apple field or something! :))

After watching my Hywel waking himself up from rumblestrutting in a dream, turning over and going back to sleep once, it is a no -rainer for me! :D

I’d never seen evidence of dreaming from my pigs until today. We got our new pig on Tuesday and he’s quite nervous until he feels comfortable then he’s alright, it didn’t seem to me like he’d had a proper sleep yet, whenever I’ve seen him he’s been only just sat down, anyway I’ve had him out today on my lap and he curled right around, stuck his leg out and slept for about half an hour. His legs and tummy started twitching and his ears flapped up and down. So so adorable, he must have been in a deep sleep!

Sometimes when Bacon is sleeping (he always sleeps in chookens or pancakes) his little legs and feet twitch, along with his ears, he likes to sleep out in the open on their blanket so you can always see him
