Hi

does anyone else's piggies look as if they're bored or fed up looking

one of ma boys in particular, Mo, sometimes just sits in the house for ages or at the moment he is lying with his chin on the ground :...

hes eating fine and drinking fine - it is almost 3 weeks since his teeth operation

any advice greattly appreciated thanks

Piggies tend to snooze quite a lot and often nap with their eyes open (unless they're completely zonked out! zzz )

My three will often chill out for an hour or so after their dinner and just lay in their house too :)

It does look quite creepy when you go into the cage and the piggy is asleep with it's eyes open (when poppy sleeps with her eyes open they roll backwards and turn 1/2 white), when you get near and it wakes up my poppy squeks loudly and looks shocked!
Have they got lots of toys and things to play with. Picking them up and letting them have playtime out of the cage also helps them be happier

sometimes it does give either you or the piggy quite a fright :))

we have put various things in their cage since we got them but all they tend to do is eat them - i have just put some hay through the roof of the house so that they have to exercise and stretch to get it

i might put them out into their play pen and see what they do though it could take me half an hour to catch the little mites lol

You can always try to keep thier interest alive, simply by swirling a bit of fruit juice over a saucer and let your piggies explore that.

Most piggies do nap with their eyes open - so they look bored!

do you mean swirl it round but not let them get it as they can be quick off the mark when they puu their mind to it lol

I'm preparing the floor at the moment to let them out for a wee explore round about but may take sum time to catch them they just slim down and slither through :))

Yes, just drain off the excess, so they can just sniff and lick and try out a new taste. I found that it was something "easy" to distract two naggy little piggies! Take it out once they've lost interest; if you have another suitable old dish, use that!

ours are usually what i would call light sleepers but they have their moments when they scare the absolutely hell out of us not good for a piggy parent :))

What a great idea! I hadn't thought of that! I've got tropical and summer fruits that they could try!

tried to also puu them back in their cage and they ran away so obviosuly not ready to go back yet :))
