Sooty and Sweep don't but Ant and Dec are hilarious!

I always cut the veg up beside the cage (no reason, I just find it easier that way) and they go absolutely mental, up at the side of the cage wheeking away at me as if to tell me to hurry up! Ant is particularly funny, he'll stretch up scrabbling away at the side as if he thinks by doing so he'll get out.

(Yet as soon as I open the cage, they scarper completely and hide until I'm gone haha)

Do any of your piggys do the same (or similar?)

My boys go craaaaaaaaaazyyyy when they think they are getting veggies/treats.

Nibbling the bars, high pitched very loud wheeking, popcorning...

They also do this when they start to smell hoomin food being made in the kitchen...even if its meat...lol.

Yep! My two do that too! I usually leave the door open between where they are and the kitchen (where I cut up the veggies) and so they smell them and go mad! They climb up the bars (not literally!) and wheek their little heads off! And if I don't give it to them immediately they get angry and start teeth chatterig at me haha! :))

Mine all do! They know what time I take them veggies and wheek their little heads off when I go in there! Best sound ever! :))

Yep, mine go mental and I don't think they understand the clocks have gone back! I went outside at 2.45 this afternoon and I could hear the girls going mad for their tea from inside their shed bearing in mind they'd only had their breakfast 6 hours earlier x

Yep! Mine do. I leave Buddy and Basil's cage open and they hop out and follow me into the kitchen and then when I say "Go home" they hurry back into their cage wheeking at me to hurry up. If they weren't up on a shelf I suspect Nibbles and Nutty would follow me too. They just wheek and popcorn crazily chewing on the bars in desperation!

Ours are usually having floor time (cage open) when we do breakfast. They go ballistic with the wheeking and venture to the kitchen as far as the edge of the carpet. Then they stop as they wont venture onto the laminate. Its funny watching them mill about until breakfast is served.

Awww all these piggys seem to be so excited by fruit and veg, it's lovely <3

I've just embarrassed myself, thinking "It would be so much easier if I didn't have to trek into town to get veg, would be great if someone created a website where you could have it delivered to your door"

Yeah - tesco, sainsburys, asda - they all do that.

I may go hide in a corner now haha

Yeah, I love the excitement of food time. It's great to make them so happy.

Just worked out we spend about £20 to £25 a week on salad etc for the herd (and yes we have some of it but most goes to the piggies).

All of mine live in the kitchen so I don't get away with ANYTHING grr!
As soon as you open the cupboards or fridge they think they're getting something!

Ours march down the corridor to the kitchen at the slightest sound of chopping or bag opening (and several other sounds that apparently sound like those to piggy ears) and stand wheeking in the doorway. If not watched they will come into the kitchen, even though they know they're not meant to. Before breakfast on weekends when breakfast sometimes happens after 7 they walk up and down outside the bedroom door wheeking and chattering! Bless them x)

Circling where the bowl go's

This was last night at feeding time, i wish i had of video'd it, they were going loopy, very noisy and the pics are so blurry as they wouldn't stay still through excitement.

xx

Awwww piggies! I love those photo's especially the one of them circling the veg like sharks :))

x) x) x) nom nom nom

Dittos odd as it depends what I'm giving him? Hel wheek for cucumber and cabbage, but if its apple pellets or peppers and so on he doesnt wheek just walks over to the bowl and eats.. How he knows what i have before i get to the cage i do not know-great sense of smell?

I think it must be smell. As soon as I break open a pepper they go mental waiting for me to put it in the cage. If I chop up a carrot, they stay exactly where they are and don't bother coming out haha

Great photos Toffeewoffee :)

Mine start telling me to hurry up as soon as I go to collect the bowls. Bella has been in a permanent sulk because I had to move her from the kitchen because she was frightening the dog. She watched me every time I went to the fridge, never wheeked but if it was leaves she used to launch herself at the wire of the cage in an attempt to get them - if the door had ever been open I would have had a flying guinea pig.

Peanut Butter is my vegie terrorist. He squeals piercingly for vegies all day long it seems like. The squealing stops when he can hear that I am actually getting vegies ready. When I approach the cage with the vegie dishes he and his cagemate Hazelnut are lined up side-by-side waiting patiently for the vegies. (Hazelnut is lazy and dozes in his cosy while PB squeals but knows when it's time to get out of the cosy and line up for vegies.) The mninute I start to lower the dishes they both stand up on their hind legs trying to steal pieces off the dishes before I can set them down!

I am new to piggies and have only had mine a week...but they go mad for veg! If they can hear me chopping things in the kitchen they wheek! Norman has done it since we got them and is really loud...but today Kevin has been wheeking louder than Norman!

As soon as I open the fridge door, Jack starts wheeking. As he hears me chopping it on the board, he gets louder and very, very insistent. He's a real tyrant :)):))
