Ours live in the kitchen and we walk past them constantly, to go into the living room or upstairs (small terraced house). Our newest addition, Esther, is still quite shy but Eleana's only interested in you if you've got food!
So if I want some attention I know to open the fridge door!

Awwwww, ours go bonkers as soon as they hear chopping in the kitchen.
My mums fault, she gives in to their wheeks every time.

smores: see's me walk past first thing in the am...WHEEK
see's me walk into the kitchen at any time...WHEEK
hears any sort of rustling of a bag, or wrapper ...WHEEK
hears the fridge door : WHEEK
hears footsteps in the kitchen area whatsoever : WHEEK
see's me with food cups (be they full or empty) : WHEEK
hears any chopping or rinsing veggies in sink :WHEEK
hears the tv go off (it makes a click)..because a goodnight treat follows: WHEEK
choco: fridge door opening, chopping, me walking in first thing in am: WHEEK..but other than that is quiet. and he chortles or purs occasionally if I pet the right spot.
gus: when the fridge opens: Wheek
when i walk past first thing (he usually starts the wheek choir)
: WHEEK..and then begins to knaw on the bars of his door.
and occsionaly will do a hardly audible : wheeka wheeka when i call his name out.
Other than that..i dont hear from him.
