Does anybody know why ?

Hi

I have a question on behalf of a family who have adopted a pair of our piggies. The piggies are known to the forum as Rocky and Stan.....

I don't know the answer so i'm asking if anyone does....

When Rocky is picked up or cuddled by Sam's husband, Rocky wee's on him. This has happened 6 times now in a matter of a couple of days. He has also done a couple of poos. It only ever happens when he is picked up by Matt and never Sam. When he was here with us is it was always me and my daughter that picked him up and we never had any problem.


Is there a reason for this does any body know?

My pigs always pee and poo on me much more than Martin, I have no idea why! Maybe Matt is just getting them coincidentally at the wrong time? Or maybe terratorial? I'm sorry, I have no idea, but would very much like to find out!

Pearl wees all the time in the basket when all the girls are together so I am wondering if that is a dominance thing. Perhaps its just one of those things though. Wish we knew.

I call my piggies "poo machines" as it is amazing how many times they can poo in such a short space of time.
Perhaps your husband was just unfortunate to be wee'd on as well.

I don't have that problem with my husband as he is allergic to hay and animal fur so he escapes all those pleasures of piggy ownership! ;D

they do say bunnies can tell male/female humans, and bucks prefer females and does prefer males! So perhaps its the same with pigs. They must be able to sense male/females, if not by sound of voice

Is it just a normal pee or is it the bum waggle gonna get you in the face kind of pee? If its the latter its definatly "i dont like you so get of/i'm better than you so get off" Could he be picking the piggy up slightly rougher than the others or maybe holding a bit tight? It could be the smell of aftershave the piggy is reacting to or maybe he is missing the subtle piggy signs of I really need to pee put me down quick. I have found that if people wear aftershave or perfume then animals will scent/mark them so this could be the case here, i never wear anything other than an unscented deodorant and have never been peed/pooped on.
