went out to spotlight (a fabric and crafts store) and was looking at all the nice cushy fleece....thought about it, but the fleece was quite expensive and in the shop nearby there were fleece throws for 10 New zealand dollars. a nice big one too, about 1.5 metres long? was very excited but didn't give in to temptation. (still not allowed indoors piggies as i live with my parents!).

the pet store was nearby so we went there as well. and i saw the cutest things for the piggies! little wigwams! well they were 'guinea pig tents' really. made of nylon and with a fleece bit on the inside. definitely on my wish list! i also contemplated getting some tropical fiddlesticks but wasnt sure whether medium or large was better. then i saw little guinea pig beds kind of like cozies but not in very attractive colours. well they were kind of a funny almost fluro green but i prefer softer more pastel colours. and there were cute guinea pig bowls, ceramic so nice and heave and with cute pictures of carrots and guinea pigs on them. aaaand grassy tunnels made of stuff they can eat and a little grassy house thing as well.

i was so excited! i am planning to go back next week when i have a bit more money and buying some stuff. we also saw the two most gorgeous male guinea pigs. one silver agouti and one brown agouti. but veeerrryyy cute so I'm appealing to mum now "....surely dad won't notice another two!" though they can't go with the girls we have an outdoor puppy play pen we got for the girls but i'm going to put some strong wire over the top to make access at the top and then a shelter part and a little wooden box house for them in part of it too so they have a nice home. if i can get those boars. ahhh i am in guinea pig heaven. while my friends are out buying clothes from the mall i'm looking at what i can add to my guinea pig hutch and run. just don't want to overcrowd the space that's all! soo...when i can make an indoor setup well gosh i have plans. for now....i'll dream:))

Wowser! Sounds like you've definitely caught the bug and I'm sure you're not alone here!

I know what you mean about it being more fun to check out the guinea pig stuff rather than human stuff. I can lose myself for hours and hours doing piggy "window shopping" online and making a mental wishlist. If I actually venture into a real life pet shop then I'm even worse.....and I seem to have developed an inbuilt radar to seek out fleece wherever I go, even on the rare occasion that I'm not specifically on the lookout for piggy stuff!

Non-piggy owners just wouldn't understand...sigh :)

I look at EVERYTHINg with piggy glasses :) Would this make a nice hidey? Does this work with my piggy fleeces? Ooooh, score, organic bell peppers for a good price!

You are among friends here :) Yesterday I was all excited (still am) about washable incontinence pads that I'll be using in their pen :)

:)) It's so true. I went into Holland & Barratt and asked to buy some of their paper bags (they charge anyway) for my pigs to play in. I got a very strange look. :))

Oooh yes, that's another symptom of the condition - seeking out paper bags and seeing them as a prize!

And thinking about it, I have another...

We very rarely get newspapers but I like to use them in the hay tray and also sometimes make hideys out of paper, so I've started picking up the free property newspapers which some estate agents leave outside for people to pick up. Usually I just take one but if I can switch into stealth mode and manage to cheekily swipe 2 then it feels like such an achievement! How sad am I?!?!

hahaha no you guys are brilliant!
thats what its like being a piggy owner.
when we go out to get groceries i always look for deals in the vegetables and think "ooh the piggies will love this nice surprise!" etc. lol i am well and truly a guinea pig slave.

I had a delivery the other day (a present for my daughters birthday) and I was more excited at seeing all the brown paper that was the packaging thinking I could make some brill tent's for the Guinea Pigs with this! :(|):(|)
