The more I watch Hamish, the more wierd I realise he is....

I know he does some odd things cos he can't see but he seems the most uncoordinated pig ever! He is always really low to the ground with his legs out wide to balance, if he rumble struts he either gets it wrong or falls over and popcorning quite often results in un upside down Mish or him landing on his side!

His brother and Suilven are master climbers but Hamish will rarely do anything that involves him having even one foot more than 1/2" off the floor.

I think if he was hooman he'd be dyspraxic or have cerebral palsy. He doesn't seem to have most of the normal reflexes for a piggy either. He is a bit of an anomaly.

Does anyone else have a clumsy pig/ uncoordinated pig?

piglet was very much like that courtesy of a second ear infection the infection cleared up but it left him permanantly clumsy

I would suspect an ear infection at some point in life, too. They can permanently mess up the balance if those tiny little bones are in any way affected.

Good point.i know his ear bones may be malformed anyway as part of that leads to his deafness so maybe it affects his coordination too.

He may be special and hilarious to watch but he is the sweetest little pig. He just love to snuggle.

I'm very blessed to have him.

merrypip you have an extra special boy in hamish, thank you for sharing him with us.

Awwww bless little Hamish! He sounds adorable.

My 2 youngest rescue pigglies are quite uncoordinated too thanks to an undiagnosed and untreated ear infection - until I took them in. They are quite wobbly at times. I have had to remove shelves etc from the large cage they are in as I dont want them to fall off anything - not that I think they would be able to climb up in the first place however.

My 2 have recently realised they can stand on their hind legs and beg for treats from the fridge and both of them at separate times have fallen over backwards and landed flat on their backs bless them.

Yah - special piggies take a bit more looking after maybe but they give so much love don't they?
