I had a visitor over the other day who met the boys for the first time - Comet being his excellent self and sitting on their chest sniffing really intently at the air and just generally being very friendly, and Blitzen sulking, as usual, in a carrot cottage on the sofa.

So after a bit, we're talking in the hall and both the boys are on the sofa (although I'm close enough to grab Comet if he gets any ideas about the floor again!) and I happened to mention the two of them have never really fought, just squabbled...right as they decided to squabble over something else. The visitor was like "Uh wait, are they fighting, should you check that out?" and I decided to humour her by taking a look.

Blitzen had apparently decided to steal some of Comet's precious hay and it had ended up in the water dish. Comet wasn't too impressed (wet hay?! WET HAY?!) and wanted his hay back, even when there's more than enough for 10 pigs on the sofa with them.

"Nope, that's actually perfectly normal. Trust me. They'll stop in a minute."

I don't think they quite believed me...does anyone else ever have those moments? When a visitor is paranoid about every scuffle, or every squeak or squeal or rumble, and you're just thinking "well at least I'm not trying to sleep this time."?

Hilariously I get it the other way around?! When the boys were still in together, they'd bicker and scrap a lot, but would usually back down from a full blown fight on their own. My friends would hear the rumbling and histrionic squeaks all "oh that's so cute! Listen to them talking to eachother...." and here's me thinking "please, don't choose today to kick off, I have a cup of hot chocolate and I wanna finish it..."

:))

When the boys were still in the living room I had these two visitors who were here regularly but the boys had always been very quiet if there was anything else around. This particular day for some reason they decided to act like they normally would after 5pm MUCH earlier in the day. You could see the look on the visitors faces like "Uh, is this normal? Should we say something? Should they be separated?" and I'm just sitting there rolling my eyes and had to point out "You've never seen this before...but I promise this is a daily occurance. It's normal. Sadly, it's *very* normal."

Meanwhile there's a carrot cottage going flying, zoomies, a game of Catch, tipping tunnels over each other, sporadic mounting, sporadic rumbling, and a LOT of delighted squealing and popcorning. Yes, this is what I try to sleep through every night!
